As you all know (if you look back on my old posts) I've tried just about everything to feel better from this awful lyme disease.

A month ago a friend of mine at karate class told me she was trying Mangosteen juice. I had known about it for about a year from reading it on here and how it had helped others so I bought 2 bottles from her.

Here's how it has helped me in just one month:

1. Two days after taking it, my husband came home from out-of-town and noticed I had energy (able to move from point A to point B without signing heavily). I had been working in my garden and doing other things I haven't done in ages. I still get tired easily but at the same time, I'm doing so much more.

I know it doesn't usually hit people that soon, I also know I'm not a placebo affect person since trying numberous other things with zero results.

2. The next thing I noticed was my horrible back of the neck headache gradually lessening and is now pretty much gone, even when herxing (although I do use the Rife machine headache and relaxation frequencies that didn't always help with the headaches).

3. My deep pain has lessened -- I was probably at 80% pain level and am now down to about 60%.
I can't wait to get off pain meds.

4. Allergies are better - not all gone yet but much better.

5. Saved the best for last -- I'm off my Xyrem! Xyrem is one of the strongest sleep meds - you take it and literally can't be awakened for 3 or 4 hours - that's how badly I needed sleep. I now fall asleep quickly and don't wake up until morning! I haven't done that in over 15 years!

I know Xango is MLM but I wouldn't be without it even it cost double what it is now. Oh, my husband is taking it - he is fairly healthy and he notices an increased amount of energy. When he travels he says he misses it a lot.

So, that's my story so far. I can't wait to see how much better I get as more time goes by.

The only other thing I'm doing for lyme besides the Rife machine and Xango is the steam tent with oxygen/ozone -- great for detoxing!

Karatelady!

I have been wondering how you have been doing on the Xango and also trying to remember your screen name!

I am at 10 days and feeling energized. Went grocery shopping AFTER dinner last night and have new will and ability to improve our diet.

I started first abx break (plan is 2 mos) in 15mos other than pulsing. So not sure if it is just the Xango. I am reading that it has antibiotic and antiparasitic properties. So I am gaining some vision to not be so compelled to nuke myself with the intense abx. Maybe continue abx with gentler ones vs. malarone, levaquine, etc.

Teen daughter taking 1 ounce per day. I am allowing compromise as she does have stomach trouble and aversions. I don't mind taste.

12yr old son 3 ounces per day. He is still in a lot of joint pain, myalgia and anxiety. We tried to reduce his nuerotin, probably too soon. It makes him so hungry.

So happy for you! And I am sure husband can use extra energy with all your family has been through. Will we be so healthy that we will start bringing in some big bucks to pay for it?

Anyone else to share experiences?

Char

PS I am double spacing for nuerolymies and as not to upset Betty! Just kidding, dear.

Char,

Oh, I probably didn't double-space enough on mine enough.

I found an article online written by a Dr. James Duke, the article says he is perhaps America's foremost botanist, retired in 1995 who worked for the USDA and University of Maryland. He said Mangosteen is listed with 138 separate benefits. The major ones were:

Anti-fatigue

Anti-tumor and cancer prevention

Anti-aging

Anti-oxidant

Anti-lipidemic - blood fat lowering, LDL

Anti-inflammatory - prevents inflammation

Anti-ulcer-prevents both stomach, mouth and blowel ulcers

Anti-obesity - helps with weight loss

Anti-atherosclerotic - prevents hardening of arteries

Anti-viral

Anti-fungal - prevents or modulates fungal infections

Anti-depressant

Anti-Alzheimer's - helps prevent dementia

Anti-arthritic - prevention of arthritis

Anti-osteoporosis - helps prevent loss of bone mass

Anti-periodontic - reduces/prevents inflammation and infection of gums

Anti-seborrhic - prevents seborrhea (skin disease that causes dandruff)

Anti-calcultic - prevents kidney stones

Anti-pyretic - fever lowering

Anti-Parkinson

Anti-diarrhea

Anti-neuralgic - reduces nerve pain
(i.e. diabetic neuropathy of feet, hands)

Anti-vertigo - prevents dizziness

Anti-glaucomic - prevents glaucoma

Anti-cataract - prevents cataracts

Hypotensive - blood pressure lowering

Immunostimulant - multiple categories cited

Cardioprotective - protects the heart

Analgestic - prevents pain
----------------------------------------------

Wow, that's a lot of healing properties. No wonder the Southeast Asian natives have used it for years.

I am taking 2 oz. 3 or 4 times a day which is more than most take. I find it helps with the energy level. The small amount of natural sugar in it doesn't bother me and I do have Candida issues.

I'm so glad its working for you and your family. My teenage son is also taking it and feels more energy he says.

I've tried to get him to take so many other things which he wouldn't so I was surprised he has stuck with this - probably the taste has something to do with it since its so good.

What you do is buy it from the person who either told you about it or, as in my case, I tried a couple of bottles from a friend.

You can either order it from one of us on here, (when I first tried to get it cheaper I went to E-bay and noticed there would be 27 people bidding on it and the top price was no less than what the company sells it for.)

The nice thing about the MLM is the product sells itself and you will have others seeing you get well and will want to buy it under you. That way it will pay for itself.

I've heard so many positive remarks about Xango. I tried a bottle several months ago. I didn't notice any improvement and wondered if it worsened my candidiasis.

Maybe I'll try it again.

How can it help some so much and not others?

It almost seems magical.

Does it keep on working or does it lose it's punch after awhile?

I have fruit once in a great blue moon. I seem to be doing better with the candida.

Thanks,

Bug

I doubt one bottle was enough to see improvement even though I noticed better energy level right away. They say to try it for 90 days.

I'm sure Lymetoo can answer this better than I can as she has been on it for 2 years and has stopped many of her medications.

I do take Candex for candida so you may need to take something to help with that since there is a small amount of natural sugar in the juice.

I believe it takes time for the antioxidants in the mangosteen fruit to heal the body. Look how long we've been sick.

When I started on bio-identical hormones from my doctor's office, I didn't see any difference in some of them until 3 months later.

Yes, it keeps on working. You tend to "get used to feeling great" and think maybe it's not working, but if you skip a few dose you will notice the difference! [at least we Lymies will notice!]

I've been on it for 2 yrs and only recently was able to stop the neurontin and Ambien. I consider that a huge victory, as I had been on those two the greater part of 5-6 yrs.

I no longer take antihistamines or Flonase either. I was able to stop those within the first month.

Then there's the antibiotics I'm no longer taking!!! Stopped those about 6 months after beginning the product. I had been on abx for more than 4 yrs.

What am I forgetting??

Ms. Karate,

Do you know where I can find the research you sited?

Also, how did you come up with your dosage? I understood 3 ounces per day if sick, and 1 ounce for matainance.

Hi Lymetoo,
How much did you take at first?

I noticed on another board where it was brought up that Vita Cost carries an Acro Labs Thai Mangosteen 32oz for 18.99. Anyone tried it and is this a big savings?

That stuff is totally worthless and I hear it tastes NASTY! You get what you pay for. It's not even the right color!

You need the WHOLE FRUIT PUREE, not an extract.

char... Here ya go

and this

PS to jarjar....I've seen photos of the bottling plant where this Acro Labs bottles several products such as the mangosteen. It is absolutely horrible! I wouldn't feed it to my dog!

So where do you buy yours tutu? After your posts I went to Whole Foodds and bought something called MangoXan -- it was all they had. But now I see it is not purely mangosteen, but has a bunch of fruit juices.

Even so, I think this gave me energy, tho its hard to tell with all the stuff im on and the cycles of this disease ..

Char,

I found the article under:

http://www.mangosteenstories.org/

and then scroll down and click on:

File - ComplianceGdlines-Notepad.txt

I started off on day 1 and 2 taking 2 oz. 4 times a day - I think that's why I had energy right away. I've still been taking either 2 oz. 3 times a day or 4 times a day just depending on how I'm feeling.

I also seem to crave the taste so I want to take that last dose but find its better for my candida to just take it 3 times a day.

Sandy

Lymetoo: Ooops - didn't see you had already given it to Char

Double posting the website info helped Char. She requires repetition at times!

We won't get in trouble for it, will we?
