PLEASE DISTRIBUTE:

Hi folks,
Dr. Jones' legal defense fund is running out of funds We MUST raise more money now to cover attorney's
fees!!

The next hearing is on June 22nd in Hartford, where the cross examination of Eugene Shapiro is of paramount importance. We need to be able to pay the attorney to prepare the most powerful case possible.

So, please contribute to the Dr. Jones Legal Defense Fund as soon as you can and as much as you can.

We Lyme patients must show a united front of support
as a message to ALL LLMDs that we will stand behind
them if medical boards try to destroy them for helping
us.

And , in the case of Dr. Jones, who is much beloved
and has literally devoted his life to saving children with Lyme disease, we should be able to make that
message very clear. Let's insure that he has the
best legal defense possible.

TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEFENSE FUND:
1) Checks should be made out to the Dr. Charles Ray Jones Legal Defense Fund.

Write "gift" in the memo field.

Mail to:
C/O George Heath, III (CPA)
26 Fairlawn Drive
Wallingford, CT 06492

2) To pay by credit card, please go to
www.DefendLymeDoctors.com and click on the contribute button to pay through PayPal.
---------------------------------------------

Since the last fund raising post I sent out, we have had another hearing in Dr. Jones' case and a rally for Lyme rights. These were extremely important events, about which you can get info at
www.DefendLymeDoctors.com

The next hearing is in Hartford on June 22nd. As soon as the exact location is known, you will all be notified.
Thanks,
Ellen

I find it odd that the date & welcoming us all to come was posted but no other data.

Are we really wanted? I dont want to make such a hugh effort if my presence really isnt wanted.

Hi sofy,

I'm wondering this myself, and waiting for confirmation to be announced from Doc J's legal team on that. That's what they get the bucks for and have the expertise in, after all --

Everyone please make resources for Doc J's fund a priority!!

Without funds, he could loose the wonderful team he has dilligently working on his case --

this is a critical need for the Lyme community!
--- we are fortumate to have this LL legal team available to the Good Doc at this time.

Hi Sofy,
The purpose of this post is to get the funds needed so that Dr. Jones CAN continue his legal fight.

I am not taking charge of arranging for the hearing, because others have taken that on.

My understanding from the legal team is that the exact place of the hearing has not yet been determined. But it will definitely be in Hartford at 9am on June 22nd

Please keep any eye out for a post on the hearing from those who will be working to boost attendance.

In the meantime, I'd like to keep this thread focussed only on the fundraising if possible. To me this is urgent, because without sufficient legal representation for Dr. Jones, we are all cooked.
Ellen

Bettyg,

As Ellen has posted before, in the case of defense funds, legal authorities usually suggest that the amounts raised not be made public. As a former legal secretary, I imagine you could research the reasons for this if you feel inclined.

Bettyg,
FFWW is correct. Attorneys don't want these amounts publicized.

I don't know the reasons from a legal point of view, but I can tell you from an activist's point of view that saboteurs have already gotten on line to try to create doubts about Dr. Jones'
credibility in asking for funds.

They did the same thing with Dr. Burrascano and Dr. H when they were in hearings in NYS. These saboteurs are very coy about how they do it, but it is malicious, unfounded and pretty sickening.

But, anyway, that is besides the point, since the main reason for not answering your question is that attorneys never publicly put out the financial information. And remember that all these boards are VERY public. (Hi McSweegan).

Suffice it to say, the legal fund will be running out if we don't get more into it now.
Ellen

Thank you Ellen for your comments and FF...

fyi, FF, I never worked directly for an attorney, but typed legal agreements from a co-worker that was reviewed by attorneys to make sure they were correct in language, etc....

Up for funding...
