I have seen discussions about heavy metals in the body and Lyme disese.

I did test very high for mercury and just received a positive IGenex IGG test, neg IGenex IGM.

My Doctor suggested detoxing for Mercury first with DMPS and then see how I feel (He is still not sure of have Lyme)

Or ... Minocycline starting at 50mg building to 200mg over the course of two weeks and monitoring for herxheimer reactions.

Suggestions???

You can do both concurrently. If you are on abx or any other killing herb, etc. for Lyme and co-infections, when the die-off takes places, you will mobilize heavy metals that were being held in the cell walls of the now dead microorganisms.
Many people interpret this as a herx. It may be a herx from the neurotoxins released by the microorganisms, but it is at the same time heavy metals circulating in the system.

Just go slow with all. The turtle wins the race.
Do only what you can tolerate - what your organs can tolerate and pay attention to assisting your organs (liver, kidneys, skin,).

If you can have someone ART test you to determine the timing for DMPS, etc., it helps a lot and you can avoid stressing your system at least somewhat.

Unless you "capture" the metals, some or all will enter the bloodstream, and will be reabsorbed in the gut and leaked back into the system settling somewhere else.

You have to be on the look-out for these and take the mop-up agents that I have posted about many times. If you don't, you will feel not very good -- !

If you do any mobilization with DMPS, cilantro, etc. you will set hopefully more metals into motion. The fact that you showed high levels is at the same time a good sign, because your body is able to release them.

Please read some of my posts. Believe me, if you don't capture the metals when you kill the Lyme off, you will be on a permanent merry-go-round. Most people think they are still fighting Lyme, while in effect the released heavy metals are probably a major contributor to their problems.

Anyone that has managed to become chronically ill via Lyme or other microbial infections, is bound to have been harboring heavy metals and other toxins. There is absolutely no doubt about that in my mind nor my doctor's mind. He has found the same situation over and over with every chronically ill and Lyme patient.

Make sure you have no dental infections. I have talked about that too.

Good luck and take care.

Wow Gigi,

Your information was most helpful.

Reading Dr. K article about treating lyme with anitbiotics was like hitting the motherload. I thought Dr. K name looked familar and then recognized it from Mercola.

I will make sure to order some chollera before and during my detox.

I bought a sunlight sauna. Sometimes I feel bad after a session so perhaps the chlorella will help. Thanks again.
