Does anyone know where I can get pictures of what Lyme lesions look like as opposed to MS lesions? I did a google search but really came up empty handed. I sent my MRI films to my LLMD because I told her the neurologist was saying possible MS due to an enhanced lesion on the c spine. I told her I declined MS treatment for now until she has had a chance to view them. We both agree the "proof is in the pudding" and that you can have MS resembling lesions with Lyme Disease but most MD's won't even consider that.
I really need a neuro LLMD as I want to keep my current LLMD but need someone who looks at MRi's of MS and Lyme patients. I really don't want to travel outside of PA can anyone help? I got some lists of MD's but they are really too far away all in other states. I don't want to begin treatment for MS until things are more definitive such as new neuro etc.

Dzeb, The lesions found for MS are non-specific and require clinical correlation. This is due to the fact that round to ovoid lesions that are periventricular can be found in Lyme disease and CNS vasculitis. MS simply means, multiple lesions, which is a symptom that usually turns up the MS pathology of this particular disease etiology. Many believe that there is no such thing as MS, but that it is undetected LD. This is up for grabs. The neurological community agree that they do not know where it comes from and the popular side are now starting to look at the possibility that it is a bacterial infection. Do you have a Lyme positive blood test? If not, you can answer these questions your self by looking into your historical pathology. How old are you? How long have you had symptoms?
