High billirubin causes this. It can be a sign of liver distress. If you have not had a set of liver enzymes (liver panel) measured you should get it done ASAP as the drugs you are taking can sometimes cause liver problems. Call your managing physician and report the problem.
If you had the tests done already and only the bilirubin is high then that is normal for some people. It is called gilbert's syndrome - cause unknown. I was diagnosed with this for a long time. Oddly though , with treatment the bilirubin levels have gone back to normal so maybe there is some type of infective cause.
In short if you have not been tested yet, get it done << A S A P >> and you might consider stopping the drugs until it is done.
The particulalry hard ones are: Flaygl Fluconazol Maybe ketek (there have been a number of reports)

Elevated Bilirubin is on the list of Babesia symptoms. Bilirubin is the breakdown of red blood cells. All hubby's liver enzymes are normal except for slightly elevated bilirubin -- goes down to normal when he treats for babesia and nausea from this improves greatly.

seibertneurolyme...Good call, I also have babesia but the other babesia indicators do not always change at the same time as the bilirubin which is odd. I at one point had pathiogenically observable parasitemia (or at least the stains look like babesia to me) but the bilirubin levels where down. Changing the babesia meds got rid of the pathology but had no direct effect on the bilirubin.
I am trying to figure out the co-relation between symptoms cyle, drug cycle ( I pulse one of my short half life meds) and the bilirun levels. It is fairly easy to see the time that the bilirun levels are high since they eyes are a bit grey and sometimes yellow. Of course urine is also more yellow with high levels.
As a side note, if very high levels of bilirubon are present, a number of neurological problems can result, strickly from the bilirbin (or so it is thought). This is what happens sometimes with people with severe liver disease; they are spaced out much like Lyme patients can be. I don't know if anyone has bothered to look at why but it is an interesting observation.
PM me some time I would be interested to hear the history on your husband. I suspect I may be slowly getting off of the same boat as him and it would be interesting to compare notes.

Thanks about the babesia info. I did not know that.
I had been wondering if the minocycline could cause yellowing of the eye, but not through liver problems, through pigment problems. But babesia makes a lot more sense.
I looked up Gilbert's and I could see that as a possibility too.
I am still not taking any drugs tonight, but I love that I have a better understanding of what could be causing my yellow eyes.

You need a liver profile done ASAP. I had elevated liver enzymes when I first got sick and wasn't on any antibiotics. I was checked for hapatitis, mono etc.....all were negative. They said it was caused by a "nonspecific virus". This was about 8 months after the bullseye rashes.
