I have a new symptom that is rather worrisome for me. Just today I started experiencing this IMMEDIATE and INTENSE fatigue in one body part.

It was OVERWHELMING in the car---my first day driving since surgery. I almost couldnt keep my hands on the steering wheel. My arms were sooooooooooooooooo fatigued. It was all I could do to keep them raised to the wheel. And it took about 5 seconds for them to get that way. I could actually feel it happening.

It has happened a few times since then....in either one or both arms and then in one or both legs.

If you have any experience with this symptom I'd like to hear from you. What helped, when did it start in treatment or disease, was it tied to a coinfection or particular treatment?

thanks again and again,
Trails [bow]

I had this problem a while back. It was around my 5th -7th months of inadequate treatment. Sometimes I could barely lift my arms. It would come and go. I remember one night I tried to do some leg lifts. I could not even do 2. Then an hour later I could easily do 20.

Sometimes I would feel the fatigue coming over me like a wave. I would get to the sofa fast (well as fast as I could at that point) and rest propped up on pillows and really spaced out until it passed.

Eventually it got to the point where I couldn't remain sitting up. A wave would come over me and I wouldn't have the energy to remain upright, standing or seated. I would lie down briefly.

After I started tetracycline this symptom started to go away. It was really bad though when I herxed 3-4 weeks into the tetra.

Thanks hats!

I get the wave feeling over my entire body quite a lot. I think it might be related to that POTS thing or the NMH - but I have never been tested.

I am worried I am under treating right now as I am only on zith- 500mg, artemisinin 4 pills a day ?mg, and plaquenil. I was supposed to be on mepron, but I had to stop taking it.

The feeling is somewhat like if I DID do 20 leg lifts...that feeling RIGHT after you do intense wieght training....it almost BURNS.

I am about 9 months into treatment this go around.

Thanks again hats! I dont feel so alone, but still rather scared.

Thanks guys err I mean gals-now I know what I have to look forward to. Actually I get this strange phenomenon too, but I'm only at month three.

The only reason I haven't been put on more antibiotics is because I am so sensitive to meds-but she said Flagyl is looming in my near future.

But it's a feeling like my insides have collapsed and I can't move. All strength leaves my body. Somebody has pulled the plug so to speak.

It is scary-especially when I am driving-because I almost feel like I am going to pass out and wonder if I should pull over. I don't know how far the WAVE is going to go.

The only thing I hold onto mentally is knwoing that each time it has passed-but each time I wonder if this is IT-the moment before Death takes over.

LYME is so WEIRD-glad I'm not!

Trails,

I have experienced the same symptoms in the past. It could very well be adrenal fatigue, especially since you just had surgery.

Vitc and pantothentic acid(b-5) both support the adrenals. It worked for me. Hope you feel better,

\

Hey ya Trails. I get this alot especially on my right side of my body. also in my arms and hands. it comes and goes.

It like the weakness your leg feels when your sciatica acts up. Or when your arm is just waking up after being asleep.

Except it sticks around longer. I'm not sure what its from but it might be a form of Neuropathy. At least thats what my LLMD thinks.

Sorry your dealing with more wierd stuff. With this Disease its always something.

Lots of love your way.

Thanks everyone!

I havent been taking my suppliments coz I cant find a good time to fit everything in to my regimine. I am on CSM which binds to everything and must be taken hours apart from any meds or food. It makes things insane around here.

I will fit in some C and B and see if it makes a difference in the upcoming days.
