Just curious. I am so tired of this crap! Its so ironic that when I was a teen I would get high with friends and we would joke about wishing we would feel like that forever. I guess you should watch what you wish for. Who knows maybe it is the bodies way of dealing with pain.

If I could get over this one symptom I would go back to work. To me, the fog feels like it is directly tied to my stuffy nose, ears, eye problems, headaches and even the confusion.

Is there anyone here who has dealt with this crap this long without any breaks.

Yes, hence my appropriate moniker. 5 years straight with no relief & it sucks out loud. Nothing has helped, yet.

Yes, Been both foggy, depressed and then depressed and foggy.

Its like living your own hell.

Being confused at the simplest things. Not knowing what to do next.

Feeling retarted or brain damaged or poisoned.

Yes yes yes. Memory almost gone feeling like alhzeimers.

OCD feeling like I have to go out and buy supplements for everything. As a result of living this way, I have been living a life of reaction and not control,

the lyme messes with your brain and nervous system.

Depression out of the blue and thinking you have caused it@!!

thats the worse, being depressed and then looking for a culprit.

Then Ill usually say well of course Im depressed because EVERYTHING SUCKs and IM GONNA DIE SOMEDAY!

I also had this hazy thing for more than two years -- unable to concentrate, unable to follow simple logical thoughts, unable to remember anything or (at the worst) anyone.

I also had the OCD tendencies lyme herx talked about.

For me, this was all the worst prior to my diagnosis and treatment. I had NO idea what was going on and constantly blamed and berated myself.

Some of that let up when I saw the positive test results.

It felt to me like living in another country -- one that was only me and only illness.

I've now been on antibiotics for a year, and a lot of this fog has lifted. I actually find myself able to reach out now and include more and more people in my universe again.

Only left wtih some residual memory problems, but I'm trusting they'll go away too.

Andie

I tell folks its like smoking giant doobies
of Kind bud one after the other--

I am alot better now -short term memory
is still perty hammered tho--

Forgot my daugthers name --
got lost in my neiborhood many times ect-

I am with you on being careful what you
wish for--I used to think Sleep was a
waste of time--

Now I wish I could get
20 minutes of sound sleep--
I have about 1 dream a year and its
usually a nightmare--

I think I hav the worlds record for
no sleep--

5 months ago I went 22 days with
Zero sleep--Ouch--

My brain fog has lifted abunch-
my speech and writing are much better-

Some how I never lost the ability
for logical thought- was slower tho-

Except for short term memory--
I am doing perty good now --

My spelling is as bad as ever tho-

Yes, I HAD terrible brain fog, blurry vision, and felt like I was going to die, but not for years. It was last year.

BUT I finally did something about it.

I would tell you what, but you probably don't really want to listen.

I do feel many times better now though. Hope the rest of you can soon too.

Yes, good call Lou. I tried it for about a year with no help. GiGi mentioned that Chlorella is easier on the GI system.

Bothrops,

You described it to a tee...the nose, eyes in a dream thing....I got it. I can also see and feel my pulse in my eyes.

Make sure yeast is not an issue. It can cause ALOT of brain fog!!

Also...mangosteen works GREAT for brain fog!

yes, going on 5 years straight, no breaks. And it's not just occasional "brain fog", like forgetting things, etc which I have too. I live in a constant state of feeling disconnected, disorientated, and feeling a step removed from everything around me. Feels like a bad acid trip and many times is utterly terrifying.

I had terrible brain fog, couldn't follow a simple conversation, couldn't read or watch television. Took too much work!

This got better within days of starting lyme tx with a top llmd. With continued abx it is resolving (been 3 years now). I'm actually amazed I can multitask again, I can now follow technical conversations and memory is improving, thankfully.
