i believe i have 37-year chronic lyme. an igenex "highly positive" test proved this. i was treated not nearly aggressively enough, and thus am still very sick.
now i'm wondering if the co-infections can go "chronic" as well? i've not read anything that says this can happen. mostly we just put the blame on the dreaded spirochete. but maybe some of the other organisms can hide in our tissues also?
just curiously, dianne

Babs [babesia] can definitely become chronic....or at best, it can take a LONG time to clear. Bartonella is also difficult to clear.
I think the jury is still out on ehrlichiosis becoming chronic. You don't hear much about it.

They can all become chronic. I was bit 10 years ago and still have Ehrlichia, Babesia, and Borrelia. Not sure about Bartonella but did have it at least until it was treated 9 years after the bite....
