Erin,
A lot of LLMD's like to start slow. Give one abx, see how you react, then add another. I started on very low doses of penicillin, because I had hives years ago and we feared I was allergic.
But, I did stop all abx but the same dose of amoxy you are on for a few months because of gastro problems. We started thinking the Lyme was gone and that it came roaring back. My LLMD referred to that time on just amoxy as "stopping Lyme treatment." So I don't think the amoxy alone is enough for Lyme. Of course, if you are breastfeeding, there are other issues to consider.
If you are breastfeeding, then I know Dr. B is now working with treating patients during pregnancy and breastfeeding. You may want to see if there is some way to get a consult with him or see if your LLMD has spoken with him.
Dr. B spoke about it at the first Hope to Heal Lyme conference, which was in 2005. You might be able to get a tape or transcript from their website.
