hi all, well to give you an idea of what i'm talking about, two months ago i finished 4 months of bicillin injections, once a week, and the whole time i had severe insomnia, in which nothing helped even ambien, trazodone, or seroquel. anyway i stopped the shots and went to oral pcn for 6 weeks, and the insomnia went away, i was sleeping great. Then i restarted the shot, and had insomnia that night, and for the folowing week, so i know for sure the bicillin was causing the insomnia. has anyone ever had a similar thing? and what did you do? my llmd thinks that the shot was doing some good, and if it was i really want to give it another try, but am scared because it was so bad the last time, that i couldn't handle it. i was very hard to live with, and i was severly upset the whole time. thanks in advance, Deanne

I've been taking IM bicillin since February. It has not caused insomnia in me.

When I did the bicillin shot, I did them 2 times a week. I felt that I could have used them every other day. I got the shot in the evening cause I would just herx like crazy taking them. My eyes went blood shot and I looked wasted! I had to go to bed. I was also doing Zithromas and mepron at the same time too. LOL.
But this could be a herx for you. The insomnia. Everyone is different.
Some things work for some people and others don't. That's what makes this disease so gosh darn terrible. We need a magic bullet for lyme.
