Assuming this is lyme, anyone else also experience low-grade fevers in the afternoons?

It seems my fever always kicks in at 5:30 pm????

Very common! thats when the spirochetes like to come out and play! I always used to have to sleep at that time, and got the fevers then too. it gets better with aggressive treatment! [Smile]

Yes, I had them for many years before diagnosis. It got much worse the first months of treatment. I still have them when I get a flare. A bad flu this past spring brought it up again, but it always improves with continuing treatment.

Yeah, afternoon temp elevation is normal for everyone. Lowest in morning, the basal rate, then raising thoughout the day, but not usually over 99 degrees. Since I'm back on RX, mine is 98 in am and goes to 99 -99.8 by bed time. Just shows your body is helping to defend it self. BB doesn't like Heat! [hi]

me me me I get them. but mine come on about 11am and end about 6pm. Mine are usually 99.2- 99.6

However I FEEL more feverish when I am actually NOT running a fever. THis took me 3 months to figure out though.

Duh.

really strange. Why the afternoon? Why does it seem to pass by the night (if I actually manage to stay awake that long) ?

Dont know why but this occurs in malaria too which is why people tie babesia to this symptom. Malaria and babesia are kissing cousins. [kiss]

so I guess the rhuemy wasn't too far off when he gave me plaquenil for "Doesn't matter what you need this for, but I think you need this" about 10 years ago...

no joke.this really happened.
