I was clinically diagnosed 3 years ago. This will be the first time I been off Abx long enought to be tested. I have plateued on my abx treatment. I have no insurance and a limeted budget. I need to get the most out of this test. Which test for Lyme, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis & Bartonella should I order and why?

If you want to just get a Western Blot for lyme, that would be all I would get, its $190. Most co-infection tests arn't very accurate. You could get them at a later date when you have more funds. This is what I did.

The tests for Babesia are very bad, because there are over a hundred strains and they can only test for two of them. So you have a 98% chance of coming up negative.

Good luck,
Lisi

My personal favorite is IGENEX in Calif. and was $180 recently for me....might have had $10 deducted since LLMD ordered tests totaling $ 905!

Make sure you print off IGX's preprinted form, have MD sign, date, & show diagnosis code.

Make sure you write on there to FAX results and mail paper copy. Mine were lost 4.5 wks.

Betty - Igenex bumped the price from $180 to $190. I know cause I sent them $180 and got a bill for $10 and a letter explaining they had bumped the price by $10.

I had the test done at the end of May, not sure when they bumped it exactly.

Lisi, thanks for most UPDATED info on price increase for Igenex testings!

My recent was in April 06, so your May increase makes sense! Thanks for correcting me with your latest news. Bettyg

Folks:

I JUST turned 65 last week. AND NOW I can get ONE (1), complete physical, I THINK, IF I remember right, according to a phone call I had with the SS administration last week. I don't remember too well as I have had a neuro problem for just about a week now, that has symptoms of either/or Babesia and West Nile Disease. It just popped up last Tuesday, and has gotten worse.

So IF I can get ONE GOOD physical PAID FOR according to SS, then I want to make sure it is a REALLY good one. Not the slip-shod stuff I would probably get from my local DUCK.

We have MILLIONS of people here in Wisconsin and only ONE LLMD that is available currently, according to the checking I have done on the net. Pretty sad for the second highest state in the country with Lyme, wouldn't you agree?

I don't NEED an LLMD, just someone who WILL do extensive testing, IMO.

This NEW thing has me baffled. Could be herxing on the Coptis I started a little over a week ago too. I have had these symptoms in the distant past, but much milder, so just not sure.

Because of federal laws, I don't want drop the ball on this one.

AND suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim [Cool]
