I guess my question is that or can they help someone who just has MS and not lyme? not the shot type just pill form of predisone?

I can't answer your question specifically, but in general terms, it is my understanding that steroids suppress the immune system. Since the response of the immune system is responsible for many/most symptoms, this would make someone feel better in the short term, while their body continues to be ravaged by disease.

My understanding (which isn't based on a great deal of medical knowledge, please be aware) is that steroids may provide relief in the case of a true "autoimmune response", where the condition is totally the result of the bodies immune system attacking [arts of the body itself, having been "faked into thinking" these parts were pathiogenic. But even then, steroid use could allow some other condition to arise due to this weakened immune response. So it would seem that steroid use should be very carefully monitored for any condition! If there is any chance that Lyme or other tick-borne illnesses are present, weakening the immune system is the last thing you want to do; thus, steroid use is a huge mistake with lyme. My LLMD prescribes Cortisol orally based on hormone testing. It's a steroid, but made by the adrenals (when they are working).
I would say that quite a few people on this board use it.
