I'm looking for supplements/herbs to
Boost my immune system protect body from antibiotics help fight lyme and co infections
What I know so far is :
Artemisinin - help kill babs Milk Thistle- protect liver Acidophilus- Replenish healthy bacteria Vitamin C- Help boost immune system Multivitamins- Replenish needed vitamins and of course --- lots of water!!
Are there any other "must have" herbs/ supplements out there that we should add to our diets?

We found extra magnesium is helpful as lymies burn through the stuff.
For adrenal/immune system function:
Vitamin E B-Complex Pantothenic acid Magnesium 400mg p-day Vitamin C [Powdered, 10-12,000mg p-day or bowel tolerable]
I would also add freeze-dried garlic as it's a great natural abx and keeps down the stomach yeast.

Schizandra did a great job protecting my liver from heavy abx protocols. Cordyceps can give you an energy boost. Zinc boosts your sex drive and immune system, CoQ10 is excellent for energy and immunity, beta carotene and lutein can help protect your eyes when taking malaria drugs, omegas 3 and 6 are good supplements.

There is a Chinese patent formula called Yunan Baiyao. I used it alongside antibiotics.
It prevents a lot of G.I. problems that come with oral antibiotic use, it reduces hypercoagulation problems, it improves blood circulation, and it seems to help improve the tissue penetration of antibiotics and other antibacterial remedies.
I also think it is antibacterial against Lyme in its own right. I took from a third of a vial to a whole vial a day. I found that the powdered form that came in vials seemed more helpful than the capsule form.

I used the Yunan Baiyao, the essential oils, and antibiotics all at the same time for a while, then slowly got off the antibiotics.
I also found N-acetyl cysteine and niacin to be very helpful. I took 1500-3000 mg of n-acetyl cysteine, and that seemed to be just as effective as the antibiotics I took in controlling Lyme.
The niacin in large doses also seemed to control the disease. I am now taking celery seed extract, which is traditionally a gout remedy, and that seems to be really useful too.
The last bit of symptoms I had was a burning itch under my skin, and a feeling of crystals or lumps under my skin. The celery seed seems to have gotten rid of this. I am asymptomatic now.
The Yunan Baiyao is really was helpful alongside antibiotics for me.

Jon: I agree with Mike and others that things like Vitamin E, B Complex, especially Vitamin B5, Vitamin C are all important to take. The vitamin C I found is best if taken in the form of C-Salts from nutri.com. This is as recommended by Stepen Buhner.
And I found that it worked beautifully in remedying my stomach woes which IMO came about FROM too long on Vitamin C in tablet form and A low dose regimen of Aspirin, along WITH the Lyme.
I really couldn't stand the pain. AND the ONLY thing that cured it was the C-Salts.
I just called and ordered another bottle of them today, as I am almost out. The LARGE bottle of 735 grams, or about 28 ounces, has gone up from $28 to $30 now. BUT worth every penny and a whole bunch more. You can buy smaller bottles but it will cost you more per ounce that way. It is all FREE shipping.
I am very surprised no one has said to use Andrographis along with your abx.
I would stick to a protocol either basic or expanded from the Healing Lyme book if I were you along with your abx. And I wouldn't vary from it either, like I did, listening to everyone who had this thing good or that thing good.
You start adding all these things, and pretty soon you are either neutralizing something else, OR like I did get into BIG time trouble with adding Coptis.
Don't get me wrong, Coptis is an excellent herb, you just have to be VERY cautious as to WHAT you mix it WITH.
I am having my protocol evaluated at this time, and will report in on WHAT is good with Buhner's Protocol and WHAT is NOT; as soon as I find out.
IF the people giving you advice are NOT a Homeopathic practitioner, or a Master Herbalist, take it all with a grain of salt and be cautious.

Thanks, 777.
I was feeling really rough again yesterday. MOST old Lyme symptoms back since I cut way back on herbs. SO upped them yestday and am feeling much better againtoday.
I am going to TRY the Coptis again in about 30 days and see WHAT it does, now that I have dropped the Garlic, Olive Leaf and Oregano.
ALSO, I will drop the Andrographis at least a day BEFORE starting the Coptis. AND only take one 450mg capsule a day at first instead of three 600mg capsules.
Will see how I do with that before upping it. Will also make sure I am not taking any Artemisia annua with it, like before.
