Cyst-busting refers to the treatment of the cystic form of Bb (lyme disease spirochete). The spirochetes can basically roll themselves up into little balls and coat themselves in mucous when they are threatened (by abx, the immune system, etc.) They are able to survive this way and evade the immune response -- they are also thought to be able to reproduce while in this state. Certain abx target this form of the disease -- Flagyl is probably the most commonly used abx for this, (I think.) Current thinking is that it is important to take a combination of drugs that target the different forms of Bb -- if one only takes one at a time, the bacteria can shape-shift and evade the drugs. That is why you will see so many people who are taking several different abx at once.
The thread, however, may actually have been referring to something else -- Babesia is an intercellular protozoal disease -- it inhabits the red blood cells. Certain diseases, and also certain treatments can actually cause your red blood cells to essentially explode -- not good if you have too high a germ-load, it seems.
I don't know too much about the cell-death part of all this -- but I do recall reading about that recently.
