Their Real!!! (at least for me they are). Because of flooding problems and water damadge I now have mildew-mites.
After a resent population explosion Ive managed to kill most of them...but theres a few hundred left.
I have the Nuro,bugs-crawling on-skin symptom so all these real bugs are putting a dent in my mental health! Dose anyone know to handle these critters?
There go's one now...Ahhhhhh!! Alan

Youch! Do what you can to get rid of the mildew, as well as the mites. Mold and mildew can be really toxic, especially to those of us who are already ill!!!
I'd google for mildew mites and check out your options, then go for the least toxic of them. Likewise for the mildew/mold -- I know a lot of us are chemically sensitive, and that limits our pesticide and cleaner options, but molds and mildews can be like poison, even to a healthy person.

With water damage, it only takes a few days for mold to become dangerous to your health.
Our water heater broke and flooded our daylight basement carpeting. We used a shop vac to clean up the water but didn't do anything else. Within a few days, my husband's asthma was going crazy and I was feeling horrible.
As far as I know we didn't have mites but we had a strong smell coming from the basement. We called a company that deals with mold and mildew and they came and sucked all the water out of the rug and used a dehumidifier in the room to remove moisture (you can rent these). They lifted the carpet up and put heaters in to dry under the carpet. They left the carpet lifted up with the dehumidifier and heater on for a few days. They then sprayed something on the rug to kill the mold.
The person doing the spraying didn't even use any protection for himself. I did ask him about the safety of the spray and he said it was perfectly safe. Sorry but I can't remember the name of it. I'm very sensitive to chemicals and I didn't feel any affects from the spray that I know of. As someone else suggested, internet research is a good idea.
That was a few years ago and we have had no problems with it since then.
Good luck, I know it is very unpleasant. Terry
