Wanted ya'll to know that my initial testing for Lyme from Bowen/QRIBb was 1:128, my Elisa(from Washington U in St Louis) was less than or equal to 0.9 which is neg. So I guess they didn't run the Western Blot.
I am having my medical records copied and sent to a doctor that supposedly knows Lyme and will look them over and call me if he doesn't want to see me. He may decide to run his own blood work.
When we get back from our trip, I may try Samento until we see this new doc or decide what to do about antibiotics.
Any other advice for a newbie? MO Sue

Just saw that you did not have many replies and are possibly anxious about results. Unfortunately, although I have lyme, my LLMD relied predominately on Western Blot. The ELISA test is not reliable...although none of the lyme tests are that reliable.. You will most likely need to do Western Blot. I started taking Cat's Claw after my first test and before my second set of tests (in between getting to a good LLMD). I think it helped to bring out the lyme (ie. it woke up my immune system to fight against lyme which is what Western Blot tests for (immune system response).
Also, you may try posting your question again or looking at newbie links. Feel free to Private message me if you think I could help you with anything.

Hi MOSue. Sheesh, sorry no one seems much in the know on your Bowen test. Surely it's indicated on your test result whether that's a positive or negative according to Bowen?
As far as the ELISA goes, that's an utterly worthless test. Good only for lining bird cages with, or for using to start fires, or making into paper airplanes. It misses 50% of people with lyme disease. I think doctors keep using it because they don't WANT to know how many people actually have lyme.
If you have a western blot from IGeneX, be sure to be off antibiotics for 10 days or so before testing. Now, THOSE tests people can help you with. Hopefully some Bowen testers will pop in here and translate your result for you.
Good luck to you and welcome!

Almost ALL tests from Bowen are positive. A 128 is the highest positive that they report. I would get the IGeneX Western Blot AND all coinfection tests to round out the picture. Not testing for co-infections is missing a major part of the puzzle that may provide you with a more well-rounded picture.
