I have been on treatment for 2.5 years and just started taking flagyl for cyst busting. How long do you think I should stay on this to be most efficacious? Been sick for 8 years. thanks

I took it after 6 months of treatment. (5 months orals and 1 months IV Rocephin.)
I did six weeks. Not pulsed, 7 days a week.
I did 500 or 750mg daily -- can't remember which. Doc said consider myself lucky as he coulda given me more. Even that much was NOT your average tea party. WOWEE. There was pain.
However, around the last week, it let up and things seemed amazingly better, so it was a good drug.
Good luck!

I was given tinidazole rather than metronidazole ('flagyl') for the cysts. This was after I was almost totally better I had it for 2 or 3 months., along with the old stanby, clarithromycin.
I asked to try the tinidazole based on info about side- effects that I had looked up. Be sure that you've nailed for sure any co-infections, before you start this final step. Good luck! DaveS
