I have had pain in my heels for quite sometime however it is getting worse.

I am in the midst I believe of a horrible herxheimer and this may have made this worse. It really hurts to walk.

Has anyone experienced this? I have heard about pain in the soles of the feet with Lyme but I haven't heard about pain in the heels.

Thanks for your input!

Yes, my LLMD said it's a Bart symptom but it could also be plantar fascitis. Mention it to your LLMD.

I went to PT and with orthotics and stretching excercies it improved.

I have pain in both soles and heels.

My LLMD said that while most LLMDs believed the heel pain was a Bart symptom, she believed it was from Salmonella, based on her experience with her patients.

I am tested positive for salmonella.

I am not a dr..Just a pe teacher in a previous life.

Sometimes the pain can be releaved thru the following stretches..

Stand on either a phone book or bottom step. Be balanced on the ball of your foot..Unless you are pretty coordinated, it might be good for the first attempt to have someone behind you in case you slip.

If not then have something to grab hold of in case you loose balance.

It works best to have the arch mostly hanging off of the step or book.

Rotate slowly up to your ball and toes and back to the heel and being down and off of the step and the arch flexing and stretching.

Do this a few times slowly..It also helps some with foot cramping..It helps to stretch the tendons and muscles.

A good friend to do a foot massage and toe pull is another thing that may help.. I suggest a clean foot for this proceedure. [Smile]
