Hi,

Just wondering if anyone with Bartonella has taken a combo of Rimfampin and Doxy or even just taken Rifampin by itself. I have heard of people experiencing a lot of improvement with this (for Bartonella).

I'm on minoclycine, soon to add Rifampin. I've seen improvement with just the mino so am waiting a bit longer to see how I do before addding Rifampin. I"ve heard it's powerful and does a good job on Bart.

my daughter started with Zithromyacin, then added Rifampin after six months. We have started to see some improvement after one month on that combo.

We've had to work harder to keep her system clean and the good bacteria abundant, but she was able to take a drive the other day and didn't completely collapse. So, that's the right direction.

Take care.

I am only working with rifampin with no Doxy. It is all I can handle as I am having to pulse my dose. We had a post going a few weeks ago and many including me had our hands full with herx from the rifampin. Best of luck!

I was on Ceftin for 6 months and then added rifampin for Bartonella.

I did ramp up the dosage on the rifampin. The first week, I had a headache that nothing touched. And it was agony. But after that, it was pretty smooth. Within several months, quite a few of the bart symptoms disappeared completely and haven't returned.

The only continuing problem I've had with rifampin has been mouth sores; my acupuncturist has given me Chinese herbs to help deal with it.

For me, this has been an important antibiotic and well worth that first awful week.

Keep us posted.

Andie

Been taking Zith three months and started Rifampin two weeks ago at half dose. I am improving. I get pressure headaches but then they recede in a few days. Next week I go full dose Rifampin. I feel like I am on the right track.
