It's lyme and yeast. In yeast the alcohol converts into sugar in your blood stream. Not good. Yeast can make you dizzy and nauseated and many more effects too.
In lyme I think it has something to do with the immune system and the liver. Personally my lyme brain can handle the effects of alcohol. Dizzy & nauseated.
Every LLMD I have heard says no alcohol if you have lyme.
I haven't had a drop in 3 years. Over time I have learned to live without it.

Have you had sugar levels tested? Hypoglycemia can impact how alcohol treats you.

I drank a half glass of wine last week and I still haven't recovered. I was hungover for days. My liver tests are fine to but I sure can't tolerate alcohol. I wonder why to. It is so disappointing because I am doing better in everyother way but still can't drink. I wonder if I will ever be able to again.

Another possibility is that you have autonomic neuropathy or another problem with your autonomic nervous system.
I'm far from an expert on this, first heard about it from a new doctor on Monday. Below is a thread I started that has some good info posted by others.
Basically, the autonomous nervous system is what keeps the basic life functions and organs going. The stress of Lyme on your system can cause it to go out of whack, which means it won't function properly.
One of the questions of the doctor I saw was whether I could tolerate alcohol. I really don't know how this relates together, but autonomic neuropathy has caused nausea and food intolerances in me.
