I take Armour Thyroid 15mg tablets. I am suppose to start with one in am for two weeks then add one in the p.m so every two weeks increase dose by one tablet until I feel better with it.

So now I take 3 tablets in a.m and 2 tablets in p.m. Is that an okay dose or am I taking it wrong. Am I understanding the dr's instructions right?I wasnt for sure if I was suppose to take it in am , afternoon and evening. The Dr. did tell me that once I figure out what is a good dose for me he will prescribe a tablet for that dose. Just wondering if anyone takes it maybe they can give me some pointers.

I just wanted to make sure I wasnt taking to much at one time! I figured there is many of you's out there with thyroid problems. We all know Lyme can affect our thyroid.

Hi BBWagoner. I take Armour also. There can be a lot of food and med interactions with it, so you may want to consider taking it sublingually (dissolving under the tongue). This is how I take it. By doing so, you do not have to worry about any interactions because it goes right into your system.

Some people take Armour in the morning and some split it like you are doing and take it in the morning and afternoon. I have split the dose before and don't know if it really benefitted me. I now take Armour in the morning when I get up. I have recently added a T3 only med because my Free T3 level was low. I take it around 11:00 am.

Keep tabs on your Free T3 and Free T4 levels. It is good you are taking Armour which is a combination of T3 and T4 instead of a T4 only med.

I've been taking it since March....had to go back down on dosage for awhile since I didn't know what was causing my stomach problems. [it wasn't the thyroid!]

I'm now taking 3 in the a.m. and 3 in the p.m.

I didn't know there were any drug interactions. Didn't see it listed in the drug info sheet??

Get your thyroid checked again about 2 months after beginning the Armour.

Hi Lymetoo. I believe you cannot take thyroid pills within four hours of taking iron, certain vitamins and supplements, and food that has calcium. You can call your pharmacist to see.

I take mine subligually, then it does not interfere with anything. When you take a lot of pills like most of us Lymies, it makes it one less thing to juggle!

Oh great! Maybe that's why I've been having foot and hand cramps. It's like I'm not absorbing the calcium or mag.

The Armour SMELLS so bad, how can you stand it sublingually?????

Hi Lymetoo. It really is not bad. It makes taking it so much easier.
