My first post to this board was on June 5 entitled "New to board: LLMD, Neurologist or self treatment?" You can see the original post at the following link: http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=044550

Due to the responses to my initial post I finally decided to see an LLMD on July 5, 2006. This LLMD came highly recommended by some members on this board.

After a clinical examination and a review of my history and symptoms, the LLMD gave me a clinical diagnosis of Lyme Disease. It was good to finally get a clinical diagnosis and not always wonder if it is Lyme since my WB test was questionable.

LLMD also had me do the Bowen QRIBB test and the results of that test say that I am positive for Lyme at a dilution rate of 1:64. It came back negative for co-infections.

I am waiting for the results of the Natural Killer Cell Function/Activity test and the Candida test. I called LLMD's office today and they said the results just came in and they would either call me or mail the results to me.

If you read my original post, you can see that I ended up on the Buhner protocol through my own research. You can also see that I have had some positive results since March 2006, it comes and goes. LLMD recommended that I continue with the Buhner protocol but increase the dosage. I had been doing about half the recommended dosage prescribed by Buhner but I was concerned about taking a large amount of herbs on my own without a doctor's supervision.

This LLMD uses both natural products and antibiotics. I was ready to go with antibiotics but if the natural works for me then I will be patient. Both my LLMD and one of his nurses have/had Lyme Disease so I will trust him since he has first hand experience with Lyme. He also recommended some other natural products that I should start taking. As for antibiotics, I have had correspondence with another poster who knows someone who sees this LLMD and that patient is being treated with antibiotics so I know he uses them in his treatment.

I personally got relief back in March from the fatigue and tiredness when I started using herbs. The fatigue has come back for a few days a couple of different times but for the most part it has gone away. I have also used a heavy dosage of an all-in-one vitamin, mineral and herb supplement for 8 months.

The burning and stinging muscles come back at times and then go away, different each day. On a scale of 1 to 10 they are down in the 2, 3 or 4 range. The muscle weakness is still there but in the past week, my muscles have felt stronger. As an example, it doesn't hurt to pick up a gallon of water like it did not too long ago. Keeping in mind I use to lift weights pretty regularly and have not been able to do that now for 11 months.

My next appointment is scheduled for Sept. 21, 2006. Thanks to all for your support and assistance.

So happy the board members were able to give you good guidance, and now you know you have CLINICAL LYME. Ask your LLMD if your name has been submitted to your state's health dept. to be COUNTED FOR CDC LYME cases ok! thanks..

These test results and clinical diagnosis do not add up to a reportable case. Sorry, Betty. The criteria are very strict and the majority of cases do not get reported for that reason. Do you have Karen Forschner's Lyme book? It describes the reporting criteria (amongst other things).

This is interesting to hear progress on Bruhner's protocols.

Good luck with the herbal protocol and keep is posted.. and don't forget detox measures and live probiotics.

best,
Mo
