I take many different supplements/vitamins/herbs. I have started Amoxicillin and will start Tindamax soon. I already started Theralac (thanks to the great advice of many on this site) and take that 2-3 hours before/after ABX. The problem I'm having is figuring out how far apart to spread the other supplements and herbs from the ABX and still be able to fit it ALL in 1 day. Does anyone have a plan that works? I want to make sure that I don't miss anything whether ABX or supplement.

Thanks,
Jill

Any minerals and probiotics should be taken at least 2 hours away from abx. Probiotics will get killed by abx. Minerals will keep abx from working.

I keep my meds pretty regular, and work the supplements in when I can. I have an crazy life schedule, so I can't do the same thing every day.

This is such a juggle. Sometimes I get conflicting info on when to take what from my doctor, from what I read, and when I call the pharmacist, which confuses things more. Then, when adding in new things after having a set regimen, more confusion.

I have several things that must be taken on an empty stomach. These I take all at the same time, 30 minutes before breakfast and 30 minutes before dinner: thyroid (T3), probiotics, boluoke (lumbrokinase), artemisinin, SAMe, cumanda, and samento.

Then I eat breakfast and take: acetyl l carnitine, fish oil, nystatin, provigil, host defense, amantadine, omnicef and mepron. After breakfast I take burbur.

Next, 1 hour or a little more after breakfast I take cholestyramine with a lot of water. By then I'm too full and ready to explode!

Lunchtime I go with multi-vitamin/mineral, calcium/mag, fish oil and burbur after the meal.

30 minutes before dinner I take lumbrokinase, SAMe, artemisinin, cumanda and samento. Have dinner and take acetyl l carnitine, multi-vitamin/mineral, calcium/mag, host defense, nystatin, amantidine, omnicef, azithromycin and mepron.

After dinner burbur. Then, 1 hour or more after all of that, cholestyramine with a lot of water.

Once every two weeks I take a time-release flagyl. I take the azithromycin for 3 weeks in a row, then cycle off for 1 week.

This may not be perfect, and some days I cannot do it all. But, for the most part it works OK.

(I didn't include other meds for other conditions, either!)

If you are having a problem with your scheduling, try calling your doctor's office with a list of what you take, and ask for some help with it. You may also try your pharmacist, they can be very helpful.

Good luck, just do the best you can.
