Hey guys I think I may have some yeast in my mouth [Frown] from all of the abx. Not typical white patches just a white film irritated and it looks swollen [Eek!]
I have used the search button but could not get it to work. Can we take liquid nystatin while taking abx? How about threelac I just received my new theralac this week and began using it.
Thanks
mimi

Believe it or not I used acidophilis I would take capsuls apart and dump contents in mouth and hold it there until completly disolved I was on vacation and had no other alternitive I used the kind in capsuls you can pull apart its sorta gritty until disolved I did that 4 time a day and rinsed mouth with hydrogen peroxide in morning and night before brushing teeth.

I understand that liquid nystatin contains sugar!! Can you believe that!?

BTW, I'd be willing to bet that THERAlac is better than Threelac. I LOVE Theralac!

There is also a post in General about thrush. You might want to check that out.

Thanks Tu Tu, I called today and my LLNP called in some Nystatin and it does have sugar WOW. I am just rinsing my mouth not swallowing it. I have been taking Theralac for 5 days now and I do think it is helping my upset stomach due to abx.
Thanks so much for your help [Smile] I'll mosey on over to general.
Take care,
mimi

Candida uses sugar for fuel. Even rinsing with sugar will likely cause them to grow or at the least cause the nystatin to be less effective. Very very strange that the people who make it don't get that.

I'm not a doctor, just my opinion.

Hi mimi

Yep the liquid nystatin has sugar in it--

But you should take it anyways--

Nystatin was By Far the best yeast killer
I have used-- the small amount of sugar
in the liquid is not going to do much -

If you have yeast in your mouth you
have yeast in your gut --For Sure --

Nystatin is real expencive-and effective-
-- Dont waste it-- by spitting out--

Nystatin dose not enter the into the body--
its perty safe to take with other meds--

Im not 100% sure but I think the liquid
has to be kept cold-- if so-
its Real Important to keep it cold--

If you can next time get Nystatin powder--
its 10X stronger than the pills --

You want to stop yeast in the begaining
before it gets Bad--
Once it gets going its Much harder to get
rid of--Jay--

Ps the liquid nystatin has sugar in it
so that kids will take it-
