I took a does of clay yesterday morning for detoxing (2 tablespoons to one glass of water).

I drank alot of water yesterday and continue to do so today...but I am drained. I feel weak.

Could one does of clay do this? I don't know if the clay is making me feel weak because its detoxing me. Some of my other Lyme symptoms have flared up as well.

Just wondering what other people's experience is. Thanks!

It will deplete minerals - maybe good supplementation would help (taken away from the clay)

ionic or liquid minerals, keltic salt - stuff like that.

My guess..

I think one time is insufficient evidence especially with lyme disease. I don't know about you, but the only consistant thing with my health since I came down sick is that it will be inconsistant.

I'd give it a few more tries.

I have a book that I have yet to read about the benefits of drinking clay.

I just have not done it yet. Perhaps you have helped me to give it a try tonight.

I'll get back to you if I do.

(Note: I did not read what the others wrote. I am limited on what I can read right now.)

I'm doing a bentonite/psyllium colon cleanse right at the moment, actually. I've done them before, but not in a long time.

Bentonite/psyllium blend is very absorbent -- so it is important to take it 2 hours away from any meds or supplements, from what I've read. It can also be constipating, so it is important to drink adequate fluid and perhaps also take some mildly-laxative herbs to keep stuff moving. Bentonite itself is actually inert in the sense that is has no chemical action directly on the body -- it is absorbent and mops up toxins -- thus can also mop up supplements, meds, minerals, etc. If you do a search, you can find a lot of info on here about it.

After a while of using it, especially if you do the ground-psyllium along with it, your colon will start cleaning out, too -- and that can start to release toxins and parasites that have essentially been glued to the walls (and impacted in the crevices) of your colon -- this can sometimes cause some die-off/herxing, too.

Any time you start detoxing, there is likely to be something of a reaction at first -- but those toxins are better off outside your body than in it!!

Clay internally and clay bath have been around for centuries.

Since clay is mostly aluminum salts, dangers arise when the blood brain barrier is severely damaged and some of the aluminum in clay finds its way into the brain. Clay should only be used late in the detox phase when any brain symptoms start to fade. It should not be used early in the disease process.

Take care.

P.S. I would not take bentonite for any length of time. There are much better cleansing products available that will not deplete you as bentonite does. Look into www.drnatura.com. It is the most effective product I have ever used for that purpose of cleaning out the twenty feet of colon. Even there it is important to constantly replace the good bacteria and to supplement with good ABSORBABLE minerals and trace minerals. Many mineral products are not absorbed and go down the drain. KMT Minerals Plus (fulvic acids) and Design for Health's Complete Mineral Complex (Albion) are working well for most patients (per Dr. K.). They are working for me too.

Look up some of my posts on chlorella. It has many benefits.

Am not really sure what you are trying to detox.
For an ongoing program, bentonite is not a good choice - my opinion.

thanks!

I'm actually buying the colonix kit from drnatura now, one for me and one for my fiance. I'm pretty excited about trying it.
