I have been suffering from symptoms of Lyme for 5 months. I have been to 6 doctors. I did test positive through IgeneX but negative CDC.

I have taken numerous tests. I did have very high mercury levels and some very strange bacteria in my stomach (Great Smokies stool test).

2 Doctors say I have way too much going on with the mercury and bacteria to think about Lyme ... yet.

After 5 IV vitamin infusions. I still feel like crap. So I am starting IV chelation for mercury and 2 weeks of Cipro and Flagyl on and then two weeks off.

Does that sound ok?

Well, the only thing I would question is the two weeks off. I know pulsing works well for many, but they usually do 2-3 wks on and ONE week off.

Hopefully, someone who has pulsed will be along shortly.

Killing Lyme likely releases and increases the metals in your system. Thus, I would ensure that at a minimum, you are doing lots to bind any metals when you start Lyme treatment - ie. for me that means chlorella.

What was the bacteria that you had in your CDSA?

Did you get tested for coinfections as well? What were the results?

I personally would not wait to start treating Lyme but I would be aware of the need to take something to bind and excrete metals that are there and will likely increase with treatment.

Doing what ever you can to improve your gut health is the best adjunct therapy in my mind. This would include eliminating refined carbs, adding probiotic, taking milk thistle and drinking lots of clean water without clorine or fluoride if possible.

Food allergies can be an issue even if you think you don't have symptoms. Some of the main ones are wheat, corn soy and lactose.

Until your gut is healthy your body can absorb nutrients properly to begin healing itself.

I would just warn you that you be prepared for the herx reaction.

Are you starting the chelation at the same time as the antibiotics? Many people have a very large increase in symptoms from chelation. And Flagyl can cause a very major herx.

As far as the amount of time on the Flagyl, when I did Flagyl I started one week on and two weeks off. My doctor moved me down to 3 days on and two weeks off because I had such a strong herx.

Hi jcbaun

I am sorry you have o much to go threw right now. And I hope you can feel better soon.

I just wanted to add one thing.

Very important to take pro-biotics spaced at least 2 hours a part from your meds.

Specially important to replace good flora when you are on your abx.

Take care

make sure to talk over everything first with your LLMD
