My husband just noticed that the viles I received this week are much darker than those received today for next week administration.
Of course, the medical group I deal with is closed for the night.
He fears this week's doses are tainted, but I read on the web that Rocephin can appear light to amber colored.
But it's from the same source so I'm a bit concerned to take my dose tonight.
Do I take the new light one or the previously delivered and dated older one?
I plan to call the medical supplier tomorrow am....but was curious if anyone ever noticed the same thing?
Thanks

Once mixed the stuff will start to turn red/brown. When it starts to look like red koolade it is no good. If it is warm, it turns red faster and even when cooled, by the sevent day it will start to look noticably reddish.

Amber is probably still ok. Any darker indicates the med has gotten too warm and is losing potency. Personally, I would call and see if they will exchange it.

hi house - i've been doing rocephin now for 3 plus months and the drug has always been a very pale yellow - i wouldn't touch it if it looked different - you know if you miss a dose or two it doesn't matter - lots of folks do a 5 day on 2 off protocol....if the pharmacy won't take it back, contact roche labs and make a stink! good luck, deb
