Good evening..

Just wanted to let you guys know I no longer have a dr.. My DUCK made me mad and I figure I have 3 weeks to survive till i get the FL so i fired her. here is the tale:

We went over the blood work all she had done was,a lyme titer ,no western blot and a CBC diff and she checked for the Ehrlichiosis, it was all done through the hospital that she works through.

When we were done going through the blood work, I asked why none if it had been sent out and she assured me that they are fully capable of testing.

Then I asked why she didnt do the western blot and she said she wanted to wait until I am done with the Doxy.

SO after I asked her why my body aches and why does it hurt to have someone hug me or touch me she said that Ineed to see a neuro and that Maybe its Fibro...

so that would make her testing me for Lupus (my mom has it) suggesting its fibro amoung other things she has thrown out if in the air.

They she said I needed to be tested for arthritis but its not worth her running the test because they wont be back before the three wreeks when I move.

I tried to get her to do the test now while i still have insurance to cover the test but she just said here is you zoloft, flexeril and doxy scripts , you do need to see a neuro.

I said well when you do you want me to return to you..She goes we will play it by ear..I said ya know what I will fill out the release of records right now..You can officially be releaved as my dr.

It was a long day friday but I made it through..

Thought I owuld share to get out some frustrations

thank
Hail

Sorry about the duck experience. Just about everyone here has their own duck story.

Is there an urgent care facility where you live? Maybe you could go to one of those and get the orders for the arthritis test while you have your insurance.

Why not order a test kit from either MDL or IGeneX -- they can mail it to your home. Maybe an urgent care facility would agree to sign the paperwork for the tests.

Your new doc in Florida can always call the labs that are used and get copies of any test results.

If you are going to lose insurance I would try to get whatever testing I could done now.

Good luck.

I agree with Bea.

I'm so proud of you for standing up for yourself....getting her info, asking your questions to your satisfaction, and then telling her you're taking your records with you! ATTA GIRL OR A GUY [bonk] HAIL?

Make sure youre release of info covers EVERYTHING: labs, xrays, others special testings, & all medical notes....

Then when you get this directly from drs. office, make sure you make a complete copy of all paperwork for yourself for reference and/or to be used to get SSDI, social security disability insurance, benefits!

Thank you so much.. I am a girlie girl just so you know [Wink] I do have all the records..

I always have the labs sned me a copy as they are done and I have my drs office give me copies as we go long..

I am a long time sufferer of endometriosis and leanred to have a back bone with drs at a very young age..

when it comes to medical practices and you..you are your only advocate and you have to be heard..

I am familiar with having to see many ducks before finding the one that will listen and have compassion..

Again thank you
Hail

Hi..

Yes I have thought about COBRA but it can be costly..Also with moving costs, cash will be a little tighter for a few.

My hubby has a few jobs lined up prety quick down there (hes a videographer, does weddings)
so with that i am hoping to get some coverage going.

But that is a great thought and thank you
