Everything came together yesterday, boom! Home health nurse, medication, picc line. AND insurance is paying 100%! For me and my daughter, 3 months.

I am mentally preparing myself for the herx.

Thank you NP40 == I will keep taking flagyl. Very good advice.

Flagyl caused a severe depression 5 weeks ago, lasted for 2 weeks. I saw psych yesterday. He just said keep taking prozac as a prophylactic and probably there is not more that psychiatry can do. However, he does not know lyme. No psych here does.

I have had 5 good days, relatively. More than I have in 5 years. At times I feel "almost" "normal". I see progress that orals have provided for a year, and also detox, diet, attitude . . . and the support of all of you!

Let's see what happens on this rocephin.

Jeff,
So happy for you and your daughter. I also will be taking the IV route after eight months of orals.

So you will be taking flagyl at the same time as the IV? Did your doc give you actigal?
Be well!

LOL humanbeing I got your three messages.

NO my LLMD did not also prescribe actigall and I am worried about it. I told her. I will see her in a month and ask again. I know everyone has said to take actigall but what can I do if she doesn't think it is necessary?

Yes I am taking flagyl because NP40 said that rocephin is known to cause the L form to go into the Cyst form. So people do great and then relapse because the spirochetes sense a hostile environment.

I am also taking biaxin.

I have decided to pulse the flagyl according to my bodymind. It made me very depressed a few weeks ago. Two days after I stopped I was myself. I will take it for a few days or weeks until I start to feel sh***y and then take a break.

I am hoping the rocephin does not make me too crazy.

PS I am a spiritual being with a goddam human body going through a goddam human experience LOL (sorry about the goddam if it offends anyone) (sometimes explitives are necessary with this disease)

hi jeff - ask your doc to do a gall bladder ultrasound - both my doc and i were surprised to find out that i have stones!!! are you being followed with cbc's and liver function panels? within a couple of weeks my liver enzymes went up and the doc didn't want to start a second antibiotic until things were at least stable...

have been on rocephn 3+ months and zith about a month - am finally starting to feel better - i know i will have to add flagyl in eventually...

i find that i tolerate rocephin better in 250 cc normal saline instead of 100 - probably just like the extra fluid! also, my liver enzymes normalized after i started doing a daily drink comprised of a whole lemon and olive oil and water blended and increased liver support and gall bladder support herbs....

good luck,
deb

HI Jeff,

Hope all goes well with the IV Rocephin. My son will be on Actigall when starting the Rocephihn.

How many here have ultrasounds done while on the Rocephin and Actigal? I wanted some opinions.

Thanks!

I had ultrasounds done monthly while on IV rocephin, and I was on actigall daily.

Jeff~ www.ilads.org has a pamphlet entitled "what psychiatrists should know about lyme disease" (or something like that). Print it out and pass it along.
