What can you eat for a yeast-free breakfast besides eggs and meat? I'm up for any suggestions on how to make it interesting!
I must confess that I've been eating sugar without thought, but it is time to get seriously sugar/flour free. I've not had any yeast beasts to speak of such as thrush or vaginal infections, but is there any other symptoms to be looking out for?
I want to follow Burrascano's diet suggestions, but the vitamins and fish oils really lock horns with the abx (even when taking prevacid). Anyone else experiencing this?

Breakfast for me varies:
I buy lean ground pork, cook a small pattie with a little dash of cinnamon and nutmeg, a poached egg or two and one thin slice of a rye bread that has no yeast, sugar or flour in it (tastes very good toasted.
Next morning I make a med bowl of scottish oatmeal, with frozen blueberries added, and when in bowl add 1 tbsp of almond butter.

Or mix white tuna with some chopped peppers/celery/shredded carrots/mayonnaise, put on top of 1 slice of my toasted rye bread, topped with a very thin slice of fresh mozzerella cheese and melt.
or a slice or two of toast with avocado, fresh basil leaves and sliced tomatoes and cheese. Or an omelet with barely steamed/cooked chopped fine spinach, feta cheese, diced chicken from night before, and diced peppers or any other vegies from night before, served with 1 slice of toast and salsa and yogurt.
Or I make a really good rice/spinach risotto and anything else I want to throw in it. I have been known during the last 2 weeks to cook a pork chop or steak with fresh green beans (when green beans are done add a little olive oil and minced garlic) and lightly sauteed thick sliced tomatoes that while cooking add a pinch of curry, salt, pepper and a brushing of honey). Now that is a really good breakfast.
If I have a little brown rice left over from night before, I can make almost anything. I love to cook, but only right now b/c I am feeling so good. About 2 weeks of each month I am very nauseous, so when I feel good I eat and cook and try to stock in the freezer. I also make good cream of spinach soup, I will post recipes for soup another time.

It's very difficult. I have been low carb for large parts of the last 16 years, and I really can't face meat and eggs for breakfast..only if it is a leftover dish from dinner the night before.
I am still after all this time struggling to think of something appetizing and which doesn't make me gag, to eat for breakfast and doesn't contain grains.
p.s. today for breakfast I had 1/2 a sweet potato with lentils cooked in onions/garlic and cumin (which was pre-made)...that was pretty good although not that low-carb as not mostly/any meat.

sigh....this is a real problem for me too. I have been a cereal eater my entire life. I do like eggs but the food allergy test said I am highly reactive to egg whites and my doctor says I should never eat them again. Have you ever noticed how many things have egg whites in it?
Meat for breakfast makes me gag too.

breakfast was my favorite food, I was known to eat two breakfasts thats how much I loved it.
Now i just eat out of necessity....its part of the healing process.
I just started eating two turkey burgers and steamed broccoli for breakfast. Turkey burgers remind me of sausage patties. they are good with tarragon as a seasoning.
I cant eat egss either.

I could never eat meat or seafood. It has always been unappealing to me. Cow, pig, snake, rat, shrimp, crab or crickets are all the same to me.
What do all the vegatarians do? I hate cooked oatmeal, If I eat oatmeal it's raw w/ dried cranberries and almonds.
If flour and sugars are to be controlled or eliminated why do the directions that accompany the Theralac say to take it w/ water, milk, or fruit juice ?
It also says you can use honey, rye bread, or brown sugar to stimulate the probiotic.
I was very confused by this, anyone else???

I'm so sick of eggs and don't want to eat bacon or any type of pork so what I do when I get up is have a spoonful of Cashew Butter or Almond butter.
Later I might have a piece of Ezekiel bread toasted with a little butter.
I also drink my Xango (Mangosteen Juice) which helps keep me from feeling hungry.
Mid morning I may juice with my Champion juicer using 4 carrots, 3-4 celery, 1/2 beet (use to hate beets). This makes a small cup of fresh juice full of enzymes and its real tasty believe it or not.
So all of that helps me stay full until lunch.
If I have to go work out at karate, I might nibble on some organic almonds on the way to class.
Not very conventional but it works for me. I really LOVE organic Cashew butter.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the replies!
I do have William Crook's "The Yeast Connection," but it has pretty carnivorous suggestions. I don't think in the early weeks of deyeasting that you are supposed to eat any grain, alternative or otherwise, muchless starchy veggies like sweet potatoes. I think after the initial yeast starvation you can reintroduce them slowly.
Corinne, I want to have breakfast at your house! You sound creative with food. Unfortunately, I cannot eat many of the foods you suggested... BUT I WANT TO!
Besides lentils, pre-prepared vegetable soups and steamed veggies sound like the way to start the day. But, it just isn't exciting.... especially when you are preparing food for your family that you can't eat!
It sounds like we all have our stomach/gut issues. Maybe we should write a Lymers guide to safe eating and cooking! Half could be dedicated to appetite and half to nauseous times!

When I get sick of eggs and various types of omelettes, I usually start mixing up whey protein shakes.
I use whey protein powder(from Wild Oats)with some cream, water, stevia, cocoa(or coconut or other flavorings), a few tablespoons of pecans(or other nuts)and ice. Mix it up in a blender and that's breakfast.
I also like it because it doesn't take that much effort or brain power to make. I'm pretty much useless in the morning.

Organic plain yogurt with stevia, walnuts, and raspberries
flax cereal- I grind a 1/2 cup of flax seed, a shake of stevia, a scoop of whey protein powder, and possibly a 1/4 cup of non-processed wheat bran mix and add boiling water like instant oats
Mix all ingredients and let rest for about 5 minutes, or until it doubles in size. Fill well-greased muffin tins and bake for about 350 degrees for 12 minutes, until dry looking and a nice light gold. Remove from pan and let cool. Makes 6 muffins
Protein bars- Title: Peanut Butter Protein Bars Yield: 8 Bars
1/2 c Peanut Butter 1/2 c Butter 2 t Liquid Sweetener 1 1/3 c Whey Protein Powder (4 scoops)
Melt peanut butter and butter in microwave. Mix in the sweeteners thoroughly. Add protein powder and stir until it forms a ball. Add more protein powder if necessary to make a stiff dough. Roll up in a ball and knead a bit; press into the bottom of a foil lined pan (I use a loaf pan). Refrigerate until firm.
I, too, developed allergies to a lot of foods. There is an immunologist here on the West Coast who does Enzyme Potentiated Desensitizaion to eliminate food and inhalant allergies. Coupled with enzymes and a 5-day rotation diet for 3 months out of my 5 months of tx, my food allergies (wheat, egg, corn, dairy and more) are now gone!
My PPO insurance covers this tx on an Out of Network basis.
If you search for Enzyme Potentiated Desensitization on the internet, beware - what I found there is far more complicated and seems harder to do than what my doc rxs.

Breakfast is a tuff one for most folks--
I ate so many eggs that I cant even look at one now--I never liked them to begain with-
One trick is to make omlets--
You can put peppers -onions -cheese-bacon- ham-tomatoes-brocilli - olives -hot sauce avacido-squash--califlower-
I like spegetti squash with real butter--
Alos pork chops with cheese -chillies -- or cininiman--
Nuts make a real good breakfast food-- get different kinds--Jay--

For breakfst every morning.
Protein shake
4oz hommade kefir 4 oz almond milk scoop of jarrow unflavored whey protien 1 Tablespoon of Caprotein (Goat) 1 Tablespoon of organic extra virgin coconut oil 1/4 tsp Stevia extract 1 Tablespoon of lecithin 8 -9 ice cubes (tray type, not ice maker)If you have an ice maker you will need more ice.
Flavors I add : Ground organic cinnamon to taste Frontier brand flavors(no alcohol) such as vanilla, bannana, coconut Orgnic cocoa powder You can add fruit if you eat fruit Create your own flavor variations

Hi. I have been hyoglycemic for a few years and so on a low sugar diet.. now I am also doing it for the yeast control also. I am confused. I thought carrots had too much sugar? Also, oatmeal? I thought only oat bran was ok.
Aside from the eggs etc. I eat oat bran muffins, oat bran, ekekiel cereal (bad spelling) and breads.
Thanks to everyone for the recipes. I will use them.

as far as I know coconut is great for you unless you're allergic. I take 3 tablespoons of coconut oil a day and put coconut milk in my yogurt...I even make hot chocolate with coconut milk and stevia.

Quiche is one of my mainstays. I make them two at a time. You can put lots of veggies in them and substitute soy milk for regular milk.
There are even whole wheat crusts at the health food store.
Breakfast has always been a challenge for me and sometimes I'm sitting there with my tuna and celery fantasizing about folks that eat Krispee Kremes. Yawn....
