I have had severe neck burning and tightness for years now but last night it traveled down my esphagus and I felt like it was the end. I could not even drink water because the chest wall pain was so severe and don't understand what is happening. I don't believe it is reflux because it comes and goes and appears to be muscular. Does anyone have this and what can you take to ease the pain? I know that my local doctor will send me on a merry go round of specialists which will turn up nothing.

I don't know, sorry you are having this, and maybe someone else will come along and help.

Early on when I was much sicker I had this sensation, and it went away with treatment.

I had many smooth muscles in spasm, and vagus nerve problems. Integrative Manual Therapy, a form of physical therapy helped along with warmth, gentle exercise, relaxation, treatment, ant lots of warm teas.

I hope that this is all that is going on for you but please get it checked out with your doctor to bo sure that nothing else is invloved and I hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi amk,

I would have this. I always described it like a sore throat. I couldn't swallow. Felt like swollen glands, but not quite the same. I would get this sensation along with air hunger. If I lay down to stretch because the back pain was so bad, it was a NIGHTMARE. Felt like an elephant on my lungs. Severe air hunger. Contributed it to babesia.

Not certain if this helps, but if this symptom occurs monthly, it could be the precurser to having your period. I always get this during the week before. More lymie, achey, tired, sore throat.

I have tried to increase my protien, and particularly pro-biotic intake. Wellness formula for immune support. It does help. I find relief once I get my period.

How's CG? Have you seen her? Tell her I am much better and thanks for all of her support.

Lisa
