I thought being positive for Lyme that when I started taking an antibiotic that I'd get sick.
I thought that happened as soon as you started and that everyone went through it. I started on Amoxicillin 500mg and Probenecid 500mg this past Tuesday the 22nd and I did'nt get sick at all.
I did get sick when my family doc prescribed Doxycycline back in June, I went to him first before I knew there was such a person as a LLMD.
Also, I had just found the Bulls--eye rash the middle of June, thinking that I was lucky to have caught it so early,
but My LLMD ran all the tests and said that this last bite was like a booster and that the tests show that I had a lot of antibodies in my blood and I had to have had Lyme for more than a year,
I had no symptoms at all. So what stage of Lyme does that put me in if I have it for more than a year? I know I should have asked at the time but I saw his mouth moving and I didn't hear what he was saying right away.
I guess I just was shocked. Here I thought I caught it early and would be able to be rid of it but now I guess I have it and will always have it. Anyone have any thoughts on this. I'd appreciate it.

When I was first treated with amoxy and probenicide I never had a herx. I just got better over a three year period. When I took ABX after my relaspe 6 years later, I herxed right away and have been periodically over the last 6 years. Sometimes very hard, sometimes not.

I took Levaquin for a throat infection and thought I would never quit Herxing. It led me to a diagnosis of Lyme. Now I am on Magnesium and that is causing mile Herxe reactions. Can't wait to graduate to more antibiotics. Hope you all are doing better.

Seriously, have you printed out Dr. Burrascano's 2005 lyme treatment guidelines found in TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE LINKS. This will explain a lot and becomes your lyme bible for us chronic lymies. Best wishes on your journey with us all. Bettyg
