I've been doing the Dr. Natura cleanse that was recommended by my alternative doc and many people here. 3 weeks into the cleanse I noticed I've put on a few pounds and my stomach is bloated.
I anticipated to feel a whole lot better. My diet is very strict during this cleanse and I'm not sure what's going on. What experience has others had with this cleanse?
According to directions and doc I'll probable have to do this at least 2 months.

Snowboarder,
I tried this cleanse about two months ago and ended up feeling very weak and pretty sick.
My acupuncturist suggested my system just wasn't strong enough yet to handle it. So I decided to stop, mid-cleanse, and wait until I'm more healed.
I'm not a doctor, but with any treatment, I try to listen to my body. That particular choice wasn't my best at the time.

I'm about to try this myself. I hope I can tolerate it. I think I'll be ok, alot of the herbs being used are things I'm taking already so I'm optimistic.
Its funny because these are the first anti dr. natura posts I've seen. Now I'm a bit nervous.
Did you try drinking more water?

also, you may be killing off things in your GI tract, you the die off could be causing gas and whatnot...all the more reason to make sure you're drinking alot of water.
Not to be gross but-have you been regular with the cleanse? Any increased amounts or an increase in the number of times? Does it look like its working?

I have been on this for about 5-6 weeks now. I did 30 days then took a week break and have been back on for about 2 weeks.
I am not sure I am any better. I haven't had results like you see on the testimonials but I have passed nasty looking stool and foul smelling(sorry..I know thats gross)as well that is very different from my normal.
At first I had headaches weakness, nausea which I assumed was die-off and then started feeling a little better. I thought it was doing a decent job but am unsure if it is really working to pull stuff out or if I am just seeing what the product looks like after it goes through you.
I have alot of mucous but it looks the same as if I leave some of the fiber in a cup with liquid for a few hours.
I have also GAINED not lost about 7-10 pounds while I have been on this, my belly initially got smaller but now it is bigger and my clothes are tighter.
I am not sure what is going on with me but I just keep thinking that maybe "today" I will expell yards of built up rubbery garbage and start to feel better. So I just keep on taking it. Right now I feel worse with fatigue than I have for a year now.
I love the tea though, very relaxing.

This is an interesting thread. I am doing a psyllium/bentonite/herb cleanse right now, including a parasite cleanse -- I've been at it for about a month. It's difficult to find just the right timing for it, so that I can also take all my meds/supplements, and not have the bentonite suck them up (I'm working, so the timing thing is just that much more difficult). I've been wanting to try the Dr. Natura myself, but am sticking with what I know for the moment.
I definitely feel something -- and not all of it has been pleasant -- periods of bloating and gas, periods of fatigue/headaches/ die-off stuff. My stool is MUCH darker and blacker than usual, and now I seem to be passing bits of the mucoid plaque, finally. I know I need this, because I haven't cleansed in a long time, and I also have been taking Vicodin off and on for pain, which does a number on the digestive tract -- very constipating.
I find it funny that we keep apologizing for talking about stool on these threads (appearance, smell, etc.) -- I mean, c'mon! We are talking about a *colon cleanse!* What else are we going to mention in terms of results????
I'll be interested to see how folks feel in a few more weeks.
In terms of the weight gain -- is it all over, or just in the abdomen? If it is just abdominal, I'd suspect that it is bloating caused by the product itself absorbing water into the colon/intestinal tract. If it is all over, maybe something else is going on.
Just my 2 cents.

if its all over weight gain, here's my 2 cents:
You are cleaning out your digestive tract, which means you will be absorbing nutrients much better than before...is it possible you are gaining weight because your body is actually absorbing whats being fed to it now?

Thank you everyone! I don't feel that bad on the product although every once in a while I feel nauseated or have a slight headache. The product seems to be very gentle.
Lymetoo I'm taking 4 paranil and 1 scoop of fiber. I'm really trying to be consistent and drink 8 cups of water a day.
No one needs to apologize when were talking about detoxing our colons. That's what this board is for and this is how we gain information.
Elley I thought after I posted this that maybe I was infested with so many parasites and your right I am probable absorbing more nutrients. The last parasite/colon cleanse I did was in 03 and I went from weiging 105lbs to 119 lbs. I'm 5'6 so I have to think parasites were a huge problem.

I can relate, I'm 5' 8" and about 120ish lbs.
I actually think and slightly hope that this cleanse will help me to gain weight, my fiance is hoping the same.
He doesn't have lyme but has other odd ailments that doctors couldn't figure out...so he's doing the cleanse with me.
We're both tiny in build, and we think maybe its because our bodies can't absorb nutrients properly.

so I'm on day 4 of Dr. Natura's Colonix & Toxinout program.
In the morning I feel kinda gassy and I feel like this morning's evacuation may be less than pleasant.
I accidentally let the tea steep for 5 minutes last night instead of the 2 they recommend. Could this be the cause of this morning's turmoil?

Thought I'd share something that helps me down the Dr. Natura Fiber drink.
I have no financial interest in this. I tried the Magic Bullet this morning because my daughter said she loved using it. I put the scoop of fiber, half almond milk and half water in one of the mugs. Put it on the blender and wam...everything was mixed up smooth. I turned it over..took off the blade and down my fiber drink.
I always had trouble in the past getting the lumps out of the drink when I stirred it by hand. I was too lazy to get the blender out....but with the Magic Bullet you just mix it in the same cup you drink it out of. No extra things to wash...just the blade instead of a spoon!
Going to use it later for my protein drink! AM

MagicBullet is a mixer/blender I got at Bed Bath & Beyond (used my 20% off coupon )
It has a small base which comes with two blades - one for general mixing and one for grinding. It also comes with four mugs, small and large containers with tops.
I use the mug for my Dr. Natura. You put the ingredients in the mug, twist on the general mixing blade. Turn the mug upside down and place on the base.
Push down and it's mixed in seconds. Take mug off base, turn right side up, twist off blade and there's your drink. Really cool.
My daughter uses it for grating cheese, mincing garlic...just about everything. Nice thing is the mugs. You can quickly make different smoothies, drinks, grind coffee, etc. MA
