I started my treatment with Doxicycline right when the rashes appered, so my doctor tells me that it was an early catch and I should not be worried. Any of you had this same treatment and found out later that it was not enough ?

I was fine . . . and now it has been 1 month after I quit the medicines and I'm feeling really tired every morning and very lazy, also with some headaches when the day is over. My doctor tells me that it's not related to Lymes but I'm affraid it is

You're exactly right cave. I am that person who came doen with flu symptoms and found a bulls-eye rash this past June went right to my family dr.that same day. Was treated w/ Doxycycline for 21 days and to make a long story short with the help of this forum to start educating myself found a LLMD and was tested positive for Lyme. He said that when I had the rash, that it was'nt my first bite, it was like a booster to the first bite because tests showed for as many antibodies in my blood I had to have had Lyme for more than a year. I hope I put that right. ButI had no symptoms at all up until this June.

Were you tested for co-infections? My understanding is that close to 2/3 of people who are infected with Borrelia, have co-infections as well. Many co-infections will require a different treatment than Borrelia.
Also, I've heard that if you have lyme AND a co-infection, getting rid of Borrelia is harder.
Oh, one more thing is that co-infection testing is not very accurate. For example, according to my LLMD, babesia likes to live in the cell and thus is difficult to catch on a test.
Something to consider. Terry

Alex, I think the symptoms need to be the guide.
My dad was bitten two months ago, we got him on Doxy about the fifth day of the rash, he has been improving but had many symptoms for having caught it so early. He's been on antibiotics for two months and is no where near ready to go off. You must let the symptoms be the guide and then treat beyond the cessation of symptoms is my understanding (see the Dr. B. guidelines, ask the Lyme doctor etc).
I was already in late stage Lyme when I finally diagnosed myself and got to a LLMD, so that helped my dad and I figure out what happened to him. Yet it obviously had already spread because he did become symptomatic even on Doxy, although it's finally getting better.
Good for you for catching it early. Most of the docs (at least in my area) refused to believe my dad, despite having a daughter (me) who had contracted Lyme four years earlier! And my dad even got a classic bulls-eye - I had a weirder rash.
So again, you did the right thing getting it taken care of immediately.
But like I said to my dad, even once he goes off antibiotics, he has to be vigilant to reporting any possible symptom to our Lyme doc so we can get him right back on antibiotics if needed.

I just finished the 30 days of Doxy last Monday. I went back for blood work 2 days after being off meds. I called the doc and asked if that was correct? (After reading all the posts here, I felt that I should have waited at least 2 weeks) He confirmed two days and now I see him this Tuesday. I am a little worried about the future. My legs are horrible. I intend to be a strong advocate for myself when I see him, Just not sure how far I will get. This site has been very valuable to me as an information source, and I Thanks you all for sharing your experiences.
