Just an update: I have been to 3 docs now (second one was supposedly Lyme friendly and lyme literate who agreed I had symptoms but not Lyme based), including my primary care doc who is the most open minded of all three.
Anyways, my Elisa was done twice, once locally through Qwest(gag) and once to Mayo. Both neg. My Western Blot was neg the first time through Qwest and Mayo only found 41 and 45 on the IgG bands were detected. IgM were ok.
the interpretation was as follows: nonconfirmatory and specific serologic response to B. burgdorferi is not detected but cannot rule out early infection during which low or undetectable antibody levels to BB may be present.
I am now thinking of sending some blood to IGenex to see what they see.
Any thoughts? MO Sue

Hi MOSue
I would get tested at www.igenex.com - their phone is 1-800-832-3200
igenex test all the bands. The reg WB doesn't.
Lyme is a clinical diagnosis, based on symptom's and patient history.
Many LLMD's will go by a clinical diagnosis rather than relying on the tests which are not sensitive enough.
Sometimes it's just significant which bands are reactive.
Here is a link that explains how you can still have lyme & test negative:
Thanks for your thoughts and replies! I have done Bowen already(which came back 1:128 and no co infections) and IGenex would be next, as I've done Qwest and Mayo already.
Bowen was done in early June, and these other tow were weeks apart also, like in mid July and mid August!
My chiropractor bro in law who got me headed to Lyme City, sent the original bloodwork to Bowen and will send me the Igenex kit to get more blood drawn and mailed to Igenex.
The LLMDs' aren't paying much attention to Bowen here in MO.
Yeah I wish everyone would get all on the same page re: Lyme. Save a lot of wasted time.
Dana, I am sending blood to IGenex next! Thanks for the website!

Igenex is PREPAY unless you are on medicare; they file paperwork, and it's free!
Don't have them bill you; they had on EXTRA $40-50 to do this!!
Western blot igm & igg combo is $190 currently since 2-06.
Call for CURRENT PRICES; you never know when they change since it is NOT posted online.
Make sure the MD signs, date, and shows DIAGNOSIS code of why they are testing you.
Have results FAXED to you and snail mail paper copy. My results were lost for 4-5 wks! Bettyg

I assume she is talking about Dr. M who taught Dr. C the lyme biz, but who is not now taking patients, or at least that was my understanding. Anyone have recent info on this?

Well, sweetpea, you think Dr. C is the lyme king, so we must keep that in mind. Wondering if you know anything about Dr. M's treatments or current practice status? I would be interested in getting some info on the subject, by pm if appropriate. If Dr. M taught him and discovered a new variety of lyme, why would you think C is better? Not argufying here, looking for hard info.
