After one year of abx, have lyme for at least 18 years, looks like my body doesn't accept abx anymore.
I went to the Emergency hospital 2 weeks ago because I couldn't breathe after taking abx. Dr said slowly start after rash clears.
So, I tried ketek again slowly after my rash cleared(once vs twice/day Ketek) and bam. Troubles breathing again. I stopped everything.
Does anyone know how to maintain lyme low without abx, just for a break? I'm so scared of re-starting without more of a break. But I don't want lyme to multiply.
Thank you!

I think Lyme is very slow at multiplying so don't worry too much. Have you asked your doctor about taking a different antibiotic? If you really don't feel like taking antibiotics, there are a number of different protocols for treating Lyme.

In my expereince as a lyme patient what I would do is ask the dr for a different abx. Perferably one in a different class.
If your body continues to react to various abx maybe you could try natural remedies. Certain supplements are supposed to be helpful in fighting lyme and some have had sucess using rife machines.
If you decide to go the alternative route you may want to find someone who specializes in that field.

Hi SAK. Are you taking the Ketek for Babesiosis? Was the breathing problem like an allergic reaction? If so, I agree that you should definitely ask for a different antibiotic.
