Hi there,

Does anyone else have vasculitis type sypmtoms such as burning and stinging on the head along with swelling of the blood vessels there?

Also I have swelling in my hands and feet and poor circulation. These are exacerbated by any type of exercise.

I also have very, very high blood pressure.

I'm having alternative hyperthermia treatments right now instead of antibiotics and hope I'm not contributing to a worsening of the vasculitis.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also will search the site for any info on vasculitis.

Thanks! [Cool]

Hi there!

I have been burning for years. It always intensifies during a herx, especially for babs. I have tried everything to decrease the inflammation, but only aggressive treatment helped. Good luck.

Can I ask how you know that these are vasculitis symptoms? My first diagnosis (before Lyme) was vasculitis over a year ago, then Lyme, now around in circles again, maybe not Lyme.....what type of vasculitis are your talking about? Any info would help. Thanks,
\Jill

I had a differential diagnosis of brain vasculitis due to multiple brain lesions. However, this was prior to highly positive western blot and lyme diagnosis.

I also have some swelling and discoloration around my ankles.

My BP is normal unless my head is killing me, when it can be a bit high.

The "pain in my brain" is due to a lyme/babesia-induced type of vasculitis or vascular debris, if you will. Studies indicate that it CAN clear up with treatment, giving you better blood flow.

I wish you luck with your treatments.

Guess I should have given more background.

Have lyme, mycoplasma, ebv, babs and I think that's it.

Already went thru almost 2 years of treatment including 4 months of IV's.

Have alot of neuro stuff but especially headaches. Was given a diuretic which helped tons with the encephalitis.

I have alot of burning and stinging (inflammation) in my head, face, hands, feet and legs. Also have alot of fine red broken capillaries on my face and upper chest.

My feet and hands are red and cold and the tips of my fingers peel.

And I have absolutely no energy.

Also one of my first symptoms was a blood pressure of like 200/100 something and severe head pain and resultant 6th nerve palsy.

My head is hot most of the time and ice is the only thing that seems to help. I have a low body temp always below 97 and a slow pulse.

Thought it was hypercoagulation which I might have also but some of these symtoms seem like they might be vascular in origin.

Anytime I work out or get over heated I start to swell in hands, face and feet. My head hurts the worst.

Was trying to find maybe a natural remedy for vasculitis from this board. Am still searching other sites too and will post what I learn here from them.

Anyways, thanks for the help. [Smile]
