Hey guys ive been taking flagyl 750 mg for about 3 weeks now didnt realize much change and then last night i took 750 again and woke up this morning feeling completely abliterated. I dont really have many symptoms besides unusual fatigue so much worse all day today and i feel really depressed dont even feel like i can speak. All in all to sum it up i feel like i was hit by a 6,000 thousand lb dump truck even though im sure they weigh alot more but you guys get the drift. Getting hit by a 20 lb scooter hurts. I just feel like i cant movem, went to the gym for an hr bc i thought i was jus feeling crappy bc i wasnt there for a few days but now i feel so much worse. Main symptoms--- feeling extremly heavy but i only weigh around 180 and im 5'7, have no energy what so ever and just feel overall miserable in my body is this a herx????????

i also wondered if any of you guys knew nething about rocephine as i am waiting for a pending out of network benefits claim to see if my insurance would cover the medicine. Is this medicine best for penetrating the blood brain barrier or is the combination of bicillin injections with the flagyl strong enough? Id appreciate any insight.

Hi,
I'll try and answer for you...
Three weeks on flagyl...and then WHAM...
Could be you just entered your cycle of regeneration of the disease and you're killing a lot of them...
Thus the release of toxins in your system...
this is a good thing.....
Yes a herx....especially if you're also getting bicillin shots.
Hopefully you're breaking up the dosage of 750mgs to 250 three times a day!
Also...flagyl CAN and OFTEN does cause one to become LETHARGIC...it does me!
Hope this helps you understand...you should feel better at the end of your cycle...like 10 days or so... You might want to do a little de-toxing of some sort.

Did your doctor tell you to take the Flagyl at 250 three times a day? If so, you really should not be taking it all at once. The antibiotic could be less effective being taken that way.
That said, Flagyl hit me like a truck. I had very bad herxes on it.
I haven't done Rocephin, but there are many posts here about Rocephin if you want to do a search.

Please dont take any meds other than how it is prescribed to you. Not only can it make it less effective (things that arent extended release need to be maintained)
but it can be really harmful to you. doses can be set by how much our bodies can process at a time.
Think about the fact that even over the counter meds can cause damage if too much is taken to quickly.
Having said that flagyl was a horrible herx for me. so hang in there.
As to the rocephin. You should be made aware that rocephin can cause problems with the gallbladder. Some of us (including myself) had to have the gallbladder removed due to the use of rocephin.

Yes, that is flagyl.........I was exhausted from taking a nap, & you could have scraped me off the floor, etc.
On a good day, I was barely there.
Big medicine!
I would check with your md to see how they want you to take it. There are half lives of abx, and they may want you to distribute. I was taking it in am, & pm. There was plenty time for me to get in probiotics, vitamins, etc.

thanks for all the helpful information im trying to consume as much of it as i can possible! its weird i feel like since i started taking flagyl i get herxes and then feel a lil better but i also think that i need to increase the spirocete killing abx such as rocephine or bicillin becase i feel like this bacteria is realizing that after fighting it in the spirochete form for so many months it knew to mutate back into the cystic form and now its being killed in the cystic form by flagyl soo its quickly coming back into the spirochete form in an attempt to survive and wreck havoc on my life !

Hi, Can't Predict Me!
Flagyl'll kick butt!
However, you really MUST break up your doses.
I KNOW it's a huge pain to try and time your probiotics in the middle of the three-times-a-day dosing. I personally hate it for just that reason. I feel like I'm always lookin for a window of opportunity to squeeze in a Theralac pill.
However, the point is to keep the blood levels consistently high.
The way YOU'RE doing it makes for one big giant peak in blood levels, then low the rest of the day.
Please do it on schedule. Flagyl is such a misery, you wouldn't wanna have to re-do it, wouldja?
Flagyl can really cause depression, so keep that in mind and know that it's temporary!
I've little advice for the Bicillin vs. Rocephin question, except: I think insurance will be much happier with Bicillin and it's a lot easier! (Well, except on your butt, that is... !!)
Good luck and hope you're feeling better soon. Flagyl is worth the pain, though sometimes 6-8 weeks is required before seeing real improvement!
