Hmmm....white could mean yeast or an infection, but yeast is not usually isolated in one spot.
I think the Theralac dosage is good, but you might want to get another so his body doesn't get too used to the Theralac.

My LLMD has me on Acyclovir, an anti-viral. She put me on when we started treatment to prevent latent viruses from emerging when my immune system was stimulated from treatment.
I ran out once and within a few days I had an awful sore in the back of my throat. It went away when I started the antiviral again.

I saw my LLMD this week and hadn 11 viruses by energetic testing, now that my immune system is stronger. I have been taking a herb called Takuna from Nutramedix.
Taken every hour, it can eliminate most flu like symptoms. I am taking it only twice a day for now.

In all honesty, it could be anything from a herx, to yeast, to a virus, to none of that at all. The only real way to find out is based on HIM. Keep a journal of everything he goes through daily and never stop writing in it. INclude what meds he took, etc.
In the long run, you will be able to see very important things such as " Oh, well everytime he is on Mepron, he gets a sore throat" Or , "it looks like he gets worse every such and such time 3 weeks, 2 days, etc"
Its very important to do this. Iwould have haulted treatment my first month in because of all the uncertainty that I had, but this really helped me.

In addition to the theralac I like the pro-biotic pearls at vitacost.
make sure he takes them at least 2 hours apart from his meds.
Not sure about the yeast< can you have his tongue/throat cultured to see if it is yeast? Could he have picked up a cold?
best to call his doc just to make sure he knows whats going on.
hope he can feel better soon

Ironically, I got bumped off the internet by the school nurse. My 12 year old was in there with a sore throat & wanted to come home.
So it's probably a virus. I asked if strep was going around and she said "not yet".
I'll keep my fingers crossed!
The 15 year old doesnt go to school, but his immune system is so weak from the Lyme that he actually came down with this before his brother did... who does go to school.
I'm going to try the B8...
Also, the journal is an awesome idea! He's going to start this today.
I know it's a long road, but I wish there would be some kind of improvement. He has just gotten worse with the herx.
His spirits are down, way down. Remembering being 15, I cant imagine what this is like for him.
I'm trying to be as supportive as possible without driving him crazy. Which is a fine line with a 15 year old boy.
Thank you all for your replys and thoughful words during my "yeast freak".

Nothing freaky about it -- yeast can hit hard and fast, and doesn't show up in obvious ways in boys (unlike girls, most of whom are no strangers to yeast) --
A lot of us (like me, for example) were very prone to systemic yeast problems even before starting abx, so it is a valid worry -- definitely stay on top of it.
As for recovery -- some of us DO feel remarkably better pretty quickly, though that is by no means a guarantee. This is a long road, but it does get easier in time -- the initial herxes are typically the worst on any new drug.
I feel for you and your son!
