hello,

Since I do not make any more progress on several antibiotic treatments (even on doxy and rifa, which kills a lot of co-infections!), I entertain the suspicion that I could have babesiosis.

The test was negative, but because this doesn't prove that I don't have the disease, I made my on test and tried artemisinin on high doses several times.

But there was no sensible effect, no sign of a reacton.

Does this surely mean that I do not have babs? Or should I try another med against babs?

The strain of Babesia could be resistant to artemesinin
So trying another medication could be an option

And some people don't experience herxheimers, they just get better. How long were you on artemesinin and did you notice any change.

all in all I was shurely two months or so on arte...

And no: I experienced neither herx nor improvement during this time. It was like eating candies. [Frown]

But the idea that resistent strains could be the cause sounds interesting. Are there any studies or informations on this topic?

and are there other known cases in which people with Babs did not get any reactions from arte?

Well, first of all, In testing for babs, the test only get at about 2 or 3 strains of the bugs, there are what I thinks they believe about 20 strains.

The other question is, did you try to use any kind of anti malarial with the Art? This would be what I would think a better way of deciding if you would see any improvement or a intesification (herx) from the run.

There are alo a number of thoughts of how you take the Art. If you look into some of the cancer research on appliction of using Art, they really try to advoid taking it with any Iron suppliments. Art is drawn to the iron in the red blood cells and the red blood cells of tumors. It is there where the art imbolizes the pathegen reproduction.
Also anti-oxidents should be avoided taken at the same time as Art, like vitamin C and some of the others, I think magnesium also. the art gets nuturalized.

Another thought, it is possible that the art you are using is not of the greatest potency. I have gotten good results from using AllergyReseach brands.

And how much are you taking? I tested out my dosing of art energenically and useally dose about 600 to 900 mg a day. My LLMD said this would not be an problem, he has used such dosing for some of his cancer patients.

You also have to remember that Art has a tendecny to build up an enzyme in the GI tract where after even a short time much of it does not get assimulated into your system. Again Cancer reseach has docuemented this decline of assimulation, very interesting. Even in babs treatment it has been stated that after 21 days you need to take a week off in order to correct this problem. I know of many who pulse art 4 days on and 3 off. I use this method and I like it better than being on the art 21 days straight.

Another thought, maybe you have a different parasite issue going on other than the darn lyme infection bugs.

Just some thing to think about.
