Nope. Vaccines weaken the immune system and I have been advised by every alternative practitioner I have ever seen not to get them.

FLU SHOT ... YES, I will get one since I'm also a diabetic!

Before I probably wouldn't have, but the winter before I was correctly dx with lyme disease, I about died with flu/respiratory problems. Couldn't breath at all and then coughing 24/7.

No, I'll take my chances with flu shot as I did last year with NO PROBLEMS.

No way Jose...

I get ill with them also and I have been advised by many ducks not to get them...also llmd's.

I got sick when I was given the hepatitis shot

series of three shots sick after each one and the clinic told me I was nuts...LOL

If you have no reaction Betty go for it...
Strangely enough I have'nt had a problem with respiratory ailments of this kind since I moved down to Florida...

Even up north after initial pneumonia/bronchitis symptoms and put on levaquin I never again had a lung problem...
Started to get one on last go round with IV ceftriaxone but went immediately to a month of clindamycin and nipped it in the bud....

part of my "detox and get healthy" plan is no chemicals in unless they are absolutely needed. So I won't ever do a flu shot again.

The only reason i started taking them was that I had gotten the flu when my kids were little (4 and 8), I'm a single mom. They literaly were fending for themselves for several days. I was to sick to think or even call for help. It was really scarey.

I haven't had one since lyme and have not had the flu. I work with kids.

I (used) to work with kids-and always got a flu shot without any problems-was told it was a "dead" virus shot.
But this year I have been wondering since my WBC is low. It is a question I intend to ask my LLMD and will follow her advice.

I would never get a flu shot. It contains so much junk in order to cause a immune response. And if you allready have a compromised immune system and unable to fight it off, your probably gonna get sick. But this is my opinion, anyone is free to do what they please.

Vaccine Fillers and Ingredients

In addition to the viral and bacterial RNA or DNA that is part of the vaccines, vaccine fillers and ingredients include:

aluminum hydroxide
aluminum phosphate
ammonium sulfate
amphotericin B
animal tissues: pig blood, horse blood, rabbit brain,
dog kidney, monkey kidney,
chick embryo, chicken egg, duck egg
calf (bovine) serum
betapropiolactone
fetal bovine serum
formaldehyde (EMBALMING FLUID)
formalin
gelatin
glycerol
human diploid cells (originating from human aborted fetal tissue)
hydrolized gelatin
monosodium glutamate (MSG)
neomycin
neomycin sulfate
phenol red indicator
phenoxyethanol (ANTIFREEZE)
potassium diphosphate
potassium monophosphate
polymyxin B
polysorbate 20
polysorbate 80
porcine (pig) pancreatic hydrolysate of casein
residual MRC5 proteins
sorbitol
sucrose
thimerosal (MERCURY)
tri(n)butylphosphate,
VERO cells, a continuous line of monkey kidney cells
washed sheep red blood cells

Sounds like great stuff huh? [bonk] I usually try avoid these things in any amount because I'm sick enough allready.

It depends on your situation.

I have a history of asthma. The combination of flu and asthma can be deadly. I used to get them yearly until my asthma disappeared. I never had a bad reaction.

I've had a reimergence of wheezing this summer, accompanied by an on-going cough. I'll probably get the flu shot this year because of that. The flu could really set me back in treatment.

I'm w/BettyG on this. Last year I had terrible flu-like symptoms from LD w/severe congestion, sore throat, coughing, achiness, etc. Getting the flu on top of that might have killed me.
When I asked my LLNP if I should have a flu shot, she said yes.

I did, and had no problems w/it. I just got one for this year too.

As a nurse, I spent many years advising people to get their flu shots and administrating them.

I don't tell anyone not to get a flu shot.

The CDC is involved. Most people just swallow whatever they say as gospel... Health professionals included.

Lyme Disease has caused me to NOT trust Dr.'s and to NOT trust the CDC.

I won't be taking one this year.

I'm in the category of people who got sick after getting a flu shot...

Last winter when my Lyme symptoms were awful, I didn't get a flu shot and didn't get sick. For me, that's good enough.

No flu shot.

Besides, my WBC is also very very low; I don't think my body would react well to the shot.

Just my .02.

Andie
