OK, I've seen lots of talk about after being on antibiotics your yeast level can get pretty high.
The symptoms are usually described as they relate to females, since they must have this problem more frequently than men do.
What are the symptoms for men?
And I assume that even we males should be taking stuff to counteract yeast anyways (like acidopholus)?

Jazzman, vaginal issues are just one of MANY symptoms of systemic yeast.
Yeast does not discriminate when on abx. The symptoms can be the same or similar to many tick borne infections including fatigue, joint pain, digestive issues, itcheness, smelly feet, athletes foot to name a few.
Do a internet search for "systemic yeast" and you will find more info than you can imagine.
In a nut shell, if you take abx, especially long term, you will have too much yeast in your system and will need to mananage it thru diet, probiotics, anti-fungal herbs and treatments.
Please don't fool yourself into thinking, that because you don't have a V you won't get yeast.

Hi Jazz
Not a man, but my husband has yeast isssues we have recently discovered even though they were not really obvious. He has always been over weight, not obese, but he's a big guy at 6'2".
One thing that has been a problem always for him was a bloated stomach. LLMD thought that he should go on the yeast diet and take Diflucan for a few months.
What happened was amazing. He dropped about 35 lbs in about 2 months. The weight came off so fast it was almost startling, like maybe there was something else wrong with him. That was a year ago and he's still here, so apparently there was nothing else wrong.
He did some research and found that being overwhelmed with yeast prevents you liver I think it was from being able to deal with fats and other toxins. So once the yeast was removed, his liver started dealing with the other issues that it could not handle before because it was so overwhelmed.
His weight has leveled off, but he needed a whole new wardrobe. His stomach does not get bloated the way it used too. He avoids beer for the most part and trys to stay away from empty carbs.
One other thing that may have been a clue for him was that he is a carb junkie. For a guy, he craved sweets, way more then me or any other girl I know.
I think my son also deals with yeast. He did have thrush as an infant. When he doesn't eat all that well, and he thinks he does, he gets this puffy look all over. When he cuts of empty carbs, diet sodas, etc. the puffiness disappears. It's as if his liver is overwhelmed and can't deal with that stuff.
I have yet to convince him to start facing the fact that he has Lyme, he has all the symptoms. His sister is CDC positive and they both apparently got it from me.

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."
Five Steps to Candida Elimination:
1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.
2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]
3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]
4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]
5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]
