I'm not sure if I have lyme or not I'll list my symptoms below. I have an appointment with an LLMD next week but would like some feed back before I spend the $400 for the appointment.
I live in Northern Virginia where there is known lyme and ALOT of deer.
First week of July I got a severe sore throat with swollen lymphs, malaise, and mild fatigue. This lasted three weeks (I was well enough to go to work). Doctor put me on antibiotics (biaxin)cause he thought it was strep. I took ten days worth with no noticeable effect. At the end of the ten days sore throat was gone but the weird symptoms began. These have included; muscle twitching, painful lymph nodes, muscle pain, paresthesias, needles and pins, burning skin sensation, pain at tips of toes and fingers, pain in ribs, cramping sensations, feeling like I can't get enough air, headache, constipation.
My questions; I didn't have a true flu-like illness at the beginning, does this mean it wasn't lyme? Shouldn't I have felt some improvement while on antibiotics? Haven't had alot of the tell-tale symptoms like a rash or arthritis. So couldn't this be some kind of post-viral syndrome or based on my symptoms should I see the LLMD? Or, based on my symptoms should I got to a general practitioner and request lyme treatment?
Any advice is deeply appreciated. -Kevin

You'll be hard-pressed to find anyone on this forum who based on the story you just told DOESN'T think you have lyme.
I have many of the symptoms you just mentioned (minus any 'flu like' stuff). And my stuff started on July 2 - what a coincidence.
I'd find a good LLMD in your area and start getting treated soon.
Good luck!
