Hello All,

I'm new to the group. In mid-august I had a terrible cold, and I never completely recovered. By late August I was noticing that my eyes were tired and my vision blurry. I was also experiencing constipation that lasted a month but seems to have improved somewhat. I have been experiencing fairly minor pain in my left eye, as well as fairly significant pressure around that eye. Sinus CT was fairly normal. CT of brain appeared normal, and I will be following up with an MRI tomorrow. Over the last couple of weeks, my neck has begun hurting on the left side; it is stiff and sometimes cracks when I rotate it. My ENT is mystified, so he started Avelox, an antibiotic earlier this week, and I began feeling terrible. I stopped the antibiotics Thursday afternoon, as I was feeling extremely lethargic. My muscles were weak and achy. I'm now taking prednisone for the pressure in my head and ears. I have to yawn regularly to open my ears. I have felt lethargic in the past, especially on days when I felt the pressure in my head. No fever that I've detected, though I've sometimes felt hot. No rash noticed either. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Todd,
Welcome, I'm sure many others will come along but you may need to start looking for a lyme doc to help you get a good diagnosis.

You have many lyme symptoms -- and predisone is not good for lyme disease.

First, ask your doc if you absolutely must take predisone..if not, Stop immediately...go to "find a doc" --get the proper diagnosis treatment.

Read all you can about lyme and don't get discouraged as it seems overwhelming...take it one day at a time...finding a good doc is half the battle.

Hang in there, come here often...

What made you think you might have Lyme, Todd?

We have a bunch of people in my small town right now who must have caught your cold. A lot of them just can't seem to recover from it - it keeps coming back. I just got it about 3 days ago. It's a doozy. I feel almost human today, but I sure have a lot of gunk in my head and pressure in my ears.

I assume you have tried all kinds of other meds for the head/ear/sinus congestion?

Did you have a tick bite? Pets in the home? Anything make you think it could be Lyme??

If it IS, then prednisone is the absolute worst thing you could take.

Speak to your Dr if this might be a concern for you.

Hi Todd

You do have several lyme symptoms-
Flue and crackie neck were my first
symptoms--

Find NewBee link at the top of 1st the page-
Read it- Start with DR Bs info-
(easist to understand)
Look at symptoms list--
how many of do you have?

Let me tell you that if you EVEN think
you have lyme Take ABX NOW--Dont wait-

Dont be scaired of ABX -No reason --
Be scaired of having lyme--

Doxicycline seem to be a Very good ABX
to start with--
If the disease has not gone to far it works-
Most folks take 400 to 600mg aday-

If you have lyme time is Not on your side-
Days count-Dont waste any--
Im serious--Jay--
