Yeast from Bicillin - hmm - that seems rare. Since it is not going through the GI tract, one would hope that it would be better in that regard than orals.

I'm disappointed in it. I'm still on it, it's keeping me at a plateau, I don't have any other options at the moment, but I was hoping for more improvement.
On the other hand, I'm having a major battle right now with a coinfection, so perhaps no Lyme antibiotic would be doing much right now.
Most people I had talked to about Bicillin had rave reviews.
Before you decide, you might want to make sure you can even obtain it due to the shortage. It's a battle for many of us. And for some like me, insurance won't pay, but others have gotten it paid for.
So you've got to factor everything in.

AFter almost two years, Bicillin seems to be the drug that is working for me. I've felt much better ever since I went on it. I've been on it now for almost four months and my symptoms have gotten better not worse. I'm not cured by any means but I feel better then I had been.

I have been on Bicillin for a couple of months and It has really helped me!! I have had great improvments with it. In, Fact my doctor seems to think I can stop with all antibiotics shortly and see how I am doing! I am excited for that!! But i am thankful I did the bicillan shots.
My insurance covers it. I get 10 injections for $20.00 so I dont really know what the actual cost would be for the injection.

I basically started treatment with Bicillin and Biaxin so have no personal basis for comparison with other meds. My doctor says I have done the best of the people he has treated.

I'm on 1.2 m.u. twice a week. My LLMD had considered increasing me to three times a week, but at $488 a box, I wasn't thrilled.
But maybe I need the higher dose. I know the higher dosage is supposed to help it be more equivalent to IV.

According to my reading here on LymeNet it is important that you take the right type of bicillin for Lyme. Bicillin LA not the CR which is shorter acting and not as effective.
Did not see any mention of that here.
If you can get Bicillin La thats great as the company has posted a message that it is only available for emergency purposes.
sending you a PM. Cannot post- it has the Dr.s name on it.

Bicillin has been great for me. It's much easier than swallowing pills that rip up the stomach. You can take 2.4 MU once a week or 1.2 mu 3-4 times per week and along with other meds really helped me!

Besides not ripping up the stomach do you avoid the yeast problem with Bicillin?

Bicillin LA worked well for us, but it was not until treating babesia, then bartonella, that I made significant strides forward. Ditto for the hubby, until his babesia relapse (which bicillin won't touch, of course).
If you're not moving forward, look into treating viruses. This has made a big difference for the hubby (valtrex and olive leaf).
We've also done extensive treatment for yeast, molds, and for metals. I think the metals tx helped, and I know the yeast tx did. Plus detox with saunas, etc. It is Klinghardt's contention that yeast, mold, and viruses sequester and harbor metals, and that you must treat them all for full recovery.
As far as I know, all antibiotics tend to depress the immune system and kill natural and helpful flora and fauna in the gut. This means that bicillin still can leave you vulnerable to candida overgrowth (and any other oppurtunistic microorganism, like h pylori), although it does not damage the gut and the gut microorganisms in the way that oral abx do. So don't stop with the probiotics etc.
