Hi all. The stupid atenolol im on is causing certain "difficulties".
My urologist rx'ed me a scrpt for viagra, and gave me some free samples as well. He acknowledged my atrial fib, all the meds im on, and still gave a green light.
I was wondering what others experiences have been. Thanks.

I congratulate you on feeling well enough to have a sex life I just want to make sure you use protection. The jury is still out on whether this illness can be sexually transmitted, but that is a possibility. You sure wouldn't want to give it to someone else.

Hey Mike..
Don't listen to her!!! Abxjunkie's dance card is probably just not "full" and so she has to try and squash your fun! HA!
Actually.. she did bring up an excellent point... and for more info on this subject do a search here with the button and type in the word sexual transmission... it should get you some good info.
Now.. back to the good stuff.. sex!
OK.. I have not taken Viagra.. however.. let's say I have known someone who has taken it who had both Lyme and a heart bypass and ..well.. they say it is worth the $36.00 per pill! Or more...
Just so you aren't worried about "croaking" in the middle of the big event... maybe you should run this past the LLMD or doc who you see. Just so your mind will be satisfied and you won't be worrying...
After all... They say sex is better if your not worried about kicking the bucket while sprouting wings to fly.
Of course.. the doc may just say... "hey" go for it...??? But I don't know.
Nothing like bringing the whole world in on this decission...eh?
Now normally I would say something like.. Let us know how it goes...
But this time I will.. I will.. I will..
INSIST!!! No details mind you.. this IS a family site!!! But from a "medical standpoint" it would be good to know.
You can send the photos to my email address! HA!
Good luck!!!

Tincup you kill me at least once a day-you should do stand up comedy for lymies
And Mike congratulations on your upcoming event send me pictures too!!!!!!!!We are rooting for ya!!!!!!!! PS on a serious not atenolol has a lot of side effects mainly dizziness Most of my patients complain about the side effects--so after the big event don't jump out of bed too quickly and get dizzy and fall--are you on this for high blood pressure or for the afib????? Really if you decide to step up to the plate and hit a homer so to speak and afib is your only cardiac condition you should be fine--the worrying about it will hurt you more because the anxiety can make you heart palpate which would feel like afib even if it wasn't and as long as your not having chest pain go for the golden ring and send photos Danielle

Well now you ARE in trouble Mike.. The whole gang is wishing you success! No pressure with that!!! OH MY!
Now don't you be thinking about us during that special moment.. I would really hate to hear that all of a sudden you broke out in a laugh! That.. in my experience.. tends to ruin the "mood".... That and a flashlight shining in the car window! HA!
Or when yor foot slips and lands smack dab on the horn! Or when you hear a car door shut just outside the bedroom window in the middle of the day when all the doors are wide open. Or when.. and I know you won't believe this.. but when a cow pushes his whole head thru the screen and knocks it in on the floor and goes MMMMOOOOOOOO real loud! Or when the the cops come to investigate the complaints about someone climbing fences to reach the beach on a moon lit night and shine that stinking spotlight on you!
Mind you.. this is what I have "heard"... not my personal experiences... ~smile~
So.. have fun and what ever you do.. DON'T laugh!!!

Ahhh, Tinfoil, it's more fun when you're laughing!!! It's no fun when it's so serious the cows have to poke their heads in and check on you! Pretty bad when the livestock get concerned! By the way, do you realize you just gave away a big secret on Mel...now we know why he's such a stud!
Mike, What can I say? Hmmm, what most comes to mind is NAUGHTY NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!!! That said, have fun and remember the Rob Lowe incident...I just don't think hidden bedroom cameras are the way to go - although, seems some of the other lymies are getting all slymie drooling at the thought of getting some pics! or do I mean peeks... WELL! This topic certainly caught my interest!!! Yeah, do let us know how it goes.... I am not sure about taking Viagra with everything you are taking.....
Are you on 'pulse' abx therapy??? You know, you go off abx a week...maybe then, you would feel better about taking the Viagra?
I thought Viagra had cardiac effects.....but since I don't have a bottle on hand....I don't know!
Hey, 'free' samples coming thru the docs office, eh?......hmmmmmm, what's your address??? No,no,no,only kidding!!!!!
Well, bless your heart.........exercise is good for you!!

LOL This subject is becomng quite funny.
\\\are you on this for high blood pressure or for the afib????? \\
Just the a-fib.
\\Really if you decide to step up to the plate and hit a homer so to speak and afib is your only cardiac condition you should be fine--the worrying about it will hurt you more because the anxiety can make you heart palpate which would feel like afib even if it wasn't and as long as your not having chest pain go for the golden ring and send photos Danielle\\
Yeah the anxiety can cause annoying palpatations, but it's very easy to tell the difference between a-fib and normal rythm.

Of course I'm always the one to advocate the natural (and affordable) solution- Have you tried saw palmetto? It seems to help quite a bit. DaveS Posts: 4567 | From ithaca, NY, usa | Registered: Nov 2000

The content of sperm includes protein, calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin B, E, C and inositol. A deficiency in any of these nutrients can affect your sex life. www.bodyandfitness.com/Information/ Menhealth/men's%20health.htm
Dr. DEAN In fact I've designed a formula for that. It's a combination of arginine [ARR jin neen], one to three grams; choline [KOH leen], one to three grams; vitamin B-5 (pantothenic acid), 500 milligrams. Taken several hours in advance, this combination has almost the same nitric oxide producing effect as Viagra. http://209.41.12.102/cgi-local/shoptmc.pl/page=1000drdean.html
Nitric oxide?
Interesting way to perhaps attack babesia...if co-infected! ;-)
"Arginine, an amino acid, boosts the production of nitric oxide, a chemical that relaxes blood vessels and promotes blood flow by keeping arteries flexible. Nitric oxide can kill parasites.
In laboratory studies nitric oxide kills the malaria parasites and stops them from growing. The scientists also believe high levels of nitric oxide can inhibit a person from getting ill if they are infected."
The above was from "Nutrient seen as possible malaria treatment" Reuters, London, 2/21/03.
STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CNN) -- Three U.S. scientists whose work going back decades led to the use of the wildly popular Viagra anti-impotence drug won a Nobel Prize on Monday. They discovered that the body uses nitric oxide to regulate blood vessels, a finding that helped in developing Viagra. http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/9810/12/nobel.prize.02/

ok, just among us frind here I will share what I would not normally share. During all my mis-dx's things weren't working too well with me either. So good old doc gave me phizer's blue diamons expensive, yes, worthi it, oh, yeah.
As a christian, I hold this perspective. there are 6 billion people in the world, trust me I just checked. and there is only one I can "be" with so I am going to make it count.
It counted. This was before lyme made it impossibe to work and afford more. As soon as SSI kicks in guess what is going to be one of my first purchaces??
Thank you phizer
