I took augementin three months ago and it seemed to knock the crap out of the lyme..I was slurring my words before and after I was not...I only took it for two weeks but I feel the worst was the herx...I am about to go on bicillin and I hope it works as well..also I herx on amoxy when I did not three years ago?why?

Polar Blast,

With the amount of different strains of B.b found in the US I believe it is not uncommon for some pts. to find relief/herx on amoxicillin.

(augmentin is amoxicillin+clavulanate to give it broader spectrum of coverage; unfortunately the clavulanate limits the amount you can take).

I'm sure some of the experienced folks on this site will also help you with this. [Smile]

I don't quite understand the question!

Why would'nt you herx?

Why did you take it for only two weeks?

This would'nt even get you past one cycle unless you happened to catch it exactly right!

If you think you're cured...you may have to adjust your thinking eric...sorry...but you have only just begun.
