I was just wondering if anyone else has done or is doing therapy with iv vitamin C. I just started last week and I can't tell you how much better I've been feeling after just two doses if it. I'm just curious if anyone on here has had any success with alternative therapies of any kind, and to what degree they felt it helped.
I'd appreciate any responses.
Thank you,

I have had 6 Vitamin C IVs. I felt better for a little while and then I started to feel bad again. But, I am also doing IV chelation for mercury. So maybe thats why I don't feel as good as I should.
I am very into alternative health. I have stopped eating wheat and sugar. I also take alot of supplements.
Unfortunately my main symptom of burning pain still exists!
But I am not giving up!

Thanks JC--I've found that as well. I feel great for about 3-4 days and then symptoms start again. If nothing else they'll help me get through the winter. When my immune system is this depressed I get every virus, bacteria, and fugus out there. It's the pits.
I'm definitely into the alternative thing too. I rid myself of a severe systemic candida infection naturally several years ago only to end up in the hospital with Lyme's this summer--bed ridden again. No fun, but I'm trying every avenue in the hope that this will not be a debilitating, lifelong affair as I know it can be. Do you use both allopathic and naturopathic treatments, or strictly naturopathic?
After suffering so much with the candida the idea of going back on IV antibiotics is enough to kill me. I'll do it if I have to, but I'm very reluctant.
Thanks again. Ashley Posts: 77 | From New York | Registered: Oct 2006

I am interested in how you treated your candida infection and I was wondering if you would be willing to tell us what worked for you?
I am a member of the Canadian Lyme Disease forum and this has been a recent topic. I think some of our members may benefit from your experience.
Thanks!

IV Vitamin C did nothing for me in the long run. Sure it can boost energy in the short term, if that. I did hundreds of them before I knew I had Lyme, at high doses and they were worthless.

Hi Nancyb--I tried a lot of programs--A LOT. I was completely bed ridden from candida at the time and my ND/MD had me on about 6 antifungals both allopathic and naturopathic. Nothing was working until his nutritionist suggested I go on the Whole Approach program.
They have a great website that gives detailed information on the program and an incredibly supportive and informative forum that allows you to ask questions and hear others' experiences.
I owe my being well (before I got the Lymes) to that place and their products and I know of a lot of people who benfitted tremendously from them as well.
It requires a great deal of determination and adherence to a strict diet though, which can be a turn off for some people. But it works. The protocol itself involves a bentonite/psyllium shake that you put various antifungals into, depending on what phase you're in.
Each phase lasts three months and then you switch so the yeast in your body doesn't become resistent to the antifungal. Starting in the thrid phase you focus on killing the yeast systemically with different natural antifungals.
They generally use capryl, GSE, oil of oregano, OLE, proseed, and kolorex. They are all rather potent and you will experience die off from them as well--especially the oil of oregano because that's successful on Lymes...
In any case, I think they have a link to the whole approach website on the lyme and candida page on this site. I stand by their products and protocol 100% and think a lot of Lymes patients would benefit from their program.
If you have any other questions about it I'd be happy to answer them!!
I'd also love it if anyone else could add to the natural therapies part of this post--I think I read about someone on here using colloidal silver for lymes. I get such bad die off when I take it (it works on both candida and lymes) that I know it works. I'm just wondering if natural therapies alone can treat Lymes...
Thank you all again,
Ashley
PS--Wildcondor--what has worked for you?

Hey Sheri--I hadn't heard that about bentonite before, but you may well be right. I wasn't on abx at the time so I wasn't too concerned with it of course. That's something I'll have to ask their moderator about if I do go back on them...Thanks!
And yes, you can buy the products separately.
