I just received results from an Echo-doppler and have abnormal results. A pulmonologist requested the test due to my SOB.

Was completed 3 weeks ago and results called to me today. I have two small children and am EXTREMELY worried.

Can Lyme cause abnormal ejection/fraction percents? Have normal EKG's. I am only 41 yrs old. I'm so scared!!!!!

What else is going to happen to me??????Please give any advice......

Sincerely,
Geneal

Lyme does and can effect the heart.
It can be reversed.

What meds are you on? Any IV's?

I am only on oral doxy. 100mg x2 dailey.

Could not get appt with LLMD till end of November.

This is so scary for me. First they told me I may have COPD/Emphesyma. Then no. Then I tested positive for Lyme, which is horrible enough. Now this.

I saw that Lyme could cause heart problems, but it is really scary. I sure hope it is Lyme and not an unrelated problem.

Thanks so much for responding. I don't know what I would do without this support system.

Thanks,
Geneal

I'm sorry to read this! I don't know anything about lyme/heart issues.

Have you looked at TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE LINKS IN MEDICAL ON THIS TOPIC?

Hugs/kisses/PRAYERS HEADED your way. Betty [group hug] [kiss]

You can't get an appointment until the END of Nov.??? Even with this news?

What has the heart Doc said about this? or recommended?

Is there any heart history in your family?

Garlic is very good for the heart - however I would refrain from taking anything until a doc sees/talks to you, clears you.

Usually (as I have seen it anyhow) heart problems with Lyme = IV meds.

I do have heart disease in my family--my father.

It just seems strange that this abnormal echo coincides with my lyme disease dx.

Called LLMD this am. Earliest available appt. is Nov. 21, which I took.

Sister is a CCU nurse and is getting me an appt. with a cardiologist whom she knows and trusts.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate every response.

Thank you. I really appreciate the kind words and support. It makes "hanging in there" a little easier.
